Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays people commonly believe that workers should get longer weekend and short working days. Now i will discuss this topic in detail in the next paragraphs. I agree with this statement, because there are many reasons for it that i will add in further paragraphs.
The main reason of this circumstance is people do not have time to do other activities. For example nowadays people work 6 days or even 7 days a week. They dont have time fot their families. I think reducing work days would be a wonderful choice because if people have tro work 4 or 5 days a week , then trhey have time to spend with their families. They can go to different delightfull and peacefull places with their families.
They can also give time to thier own health. They can exercise play some sports in these weekends. They can sleep well and longer weekeends can make people lives so much better. They can hangout with their friends and play cricket and different sports they like. The main advantage of this routine is poeple can work more effectively because they have took enogh rest and had some physical actvitry. As we all know a sound body has sound mind so by exercising regularly, theri mind can become more sharp and their work become better.
I started working after my inter exams, and I realised that working hours matter the most. The main reason is that our brain become less effective after around 6 or 7 hours of work and we startred missing our family and friends. But if we get enough rest and have time to hangout and do some exercises our brain become more effective and better in work. we do not feel overloaded or forced.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: “I agree with this statement,” and you give relevant reasons, including more time for family, health and rest, and potentially improved work effectiveness. The personal example about starting work after your exams also helps connect the argument to experience. These points address the question, but they are not all developed equally. The family and exercise benefits are explained with examples, while the claim that shorter working weeks improve effectiveness is repeated more than it is supported; for instance, explain how rest could improve concentration or reduce mistakes. The response also focuses mainly on the benefits of a longer weekend, with less discussion of the working week itself. Develop that link more explicitly and support each main claim with a clear explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, paragraphs about family and health, and a personal example near the end. Ideas generally follow a sensible order, and linking phrases such as “For example,” “They can also,” and “But” help show relationships. However, progression is sometimes repetitive: the benefits of rest and improved work are stated in several places without each paragraph adding a distinct step to the argument. The opening also announces that the topic will be discussed rather than previewing the main reasons. Some references, such as “this routine,” are not fully precise, and the final paragraph would work better as a conclusion that restates the position and draws the points together. Use clearer topic sentences and more purposeful links between claims.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including terms related to work, family, health and effectiveness. Phrases such as “overloaded or forced” and “spend with their families” convey relevant meaning. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling and collocation errors are noticeable, sometimes making the reader pause. Examples include “delightfull and peacefull places,” “hangout,” and “our brain become more effective.” Repeated use of “better,” “time,” and “work” also limits precision. Aim for more accurate topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully; for example, describe workers as having “more time for family life” or being “more productive after adequate rest.” These improvements would make your argument clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if people have to work 4 or 5 days a week, then they have time to spend with their families.” This helps you explain cause and effect. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries occur often enough to make some sentences awkward. For example, “our brain become less effective” needs agreement, while “they have took enough rest” uses an incorrect verb form. In “They can exercise play some sports,” the actions need clearer grammatical separation. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly at sentence beginnings. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, consistent tense, and correct agreement; this will make your ideas easier to follow.
