Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years there has been growing debate about whether the working week should be shorter to give the employees a longer weekends. I'm incliend to belive the shorter working week can improve the workers' mental and phusical health, as well as their productivity . for example they have more time to spand woth there family and go to gym for there phusical well being as for now 2 days are not much time to spand on the outdoor activity as to the rest of there personal work.
The main reason i support a shorter working week is that it can help employees to maintain a healthy work life balance. As a result, they would be more likely to retuen to the work feeling refreshed and motivated.
However, a shorter working week may creat difficulties for certain industries, particularly healthcare, transport amd the coustomer service, where continewous staffing is essential. Nevertheless these challenges could be addressed through flexible shifts and proper workfoce plannning rather than requiring everyone to work longer hours. Top big industries also tell that if they reduce the working hour and add more stuff to for the same amount of the work, the cost of the same product or the services will be increase up to 10%, which is indirectly effect the people including working professional.
in conclusion, the possitive outcomes easily overcome the conciquences it, I firmly belive that the working week should be shortened and weekeds extended, This chnage would promote better health, strengthen family relationships and potentially increase workplace productivity.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I’m inclined to believe”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address both the benefits of a shorter week and a counterargument, noting that continuous staffing is needed in healthcare, transport and customer service, and that hiring extra staff could raise costs. This gives the response relevant support and a balanced line of reasoning. The health and family benefits, however, are asserted more than explained, and the cost point would be stronger with a clearer example or explanation of how the increase affects workers. Develop these points with specific, connected reasoning rather than broad claims such as “the positive outcomes easily overcome the consequences.”
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable progression: it introduces your view, explains the work–life balance benefit, considers practical drawbacks, and concludes with a firm recommendation. Paragraphing helps distinguish the main argument from the counterargument, and transitions such as “However,” “Nevertheless,” and “In conclusion” guide the reader. To make the progression more consistently clear, give each paragraph a focused topic sentence and connect supporting details more explicitly. The opening benefit paragraph moves quickly from family time to exercise and outdoor activities, while the industry paragraph shifts from staffing needs to product costs without fully explaining the link. More precise referencing and sentence boundaries would also make the connections easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “work life balance,” “flexible shifts,” “continuous staffing,” and “workplace productivity,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, the range and control are uneven: several misspellings and imprecise or unnatural phrases distract the reader, including “inclined,” “phusical,” “spand,” “Top big industries,” and “the cost … will be increase.” Some wording is also repetitive, particularly references to time and work. Aim for accurate collocations and a more formal register, such as describing “staffing requirements” and “operating costs.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise phrases will make your argument clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex structures, including a concession introduced by “However” and a conditional idea about employees returning to work refreshed. The main message is generally recoverable, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “the cost … will be increase” has an incorrect verb form, while “which is indirectly effect the people” does not form a correct clause. There are also problems with articles, plurals, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “a longer weekends” and the run-on opening benefit sentence. Practise building accurate complex sentences and check verb forms, agreement, and punctuation before submitting.
