Student answer (Band 5.0)

I think that working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend.I think so because more work will tired the worker mind and they did not be able to pay full attention to their work.It is very absurd that worker is present at working place but his mind is not present at that time.Work without break can damage workers mently health. When they are not healthy they did not pay any little attention to their work and their personal life will also disturb.Due to work load they will not pay attention to their family and it disturb their family bonding.Workers with high workload can lose their patience and they became stressed.Sometimes during stressed due to workload they also attemp socidal attempt because they feel helpless.at the end they suffer their family instead of help.So I think that work shedules could be changed and gave proper time to them to feel relax and spent time with their families.Workers who had busy work shedule throughout week and they did not have time to spent with their childerens so their childerens mental health also disturb.Because they did not have time to do homework with their childerns and even they did not have time to go with childerns out for a walk oor eat a meal with them.So it also have bad impact on their childerns. If they have less work load so they have extra time to spend with their families and also their childerns. It also build their family relation. So according to me workers should have long weekends.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that workers should have longer weekends, and you give relevant reasons involving stress, health, family relationships and children. The examples about parents helping with homework or spending time with their children help explain the family impact. However, several points repeat the same idea about workload and family life, and the discussion does not fully develop how a shorter working week would benefit workers or employers. The response also contains 245 words, so it is five words below the required minimum; the 12 words copied from the task prompt are not counted. Develop fewer reasons with clearer explanation and a specific example to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response follows a generally understandable line of thought: it moves from workers’ stress and health to the effects on family life, then restates your position. Linking phrases such as “Due to work load” and “So according to me” signal relationships between ideas. However, the writing is presented as one long paragraph, so the main points are not clearly separated. Repeated use of “and,” “so” and “because” also makes the progression feel repetitive, while some references, such as “it” in “it disturb their family bonding,” are unclear. Use separate paragraphs for worker wellbeing and family effects, and vary linking devices while making each reference explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “workload,” “stressed,” “mental health,” “family bonding” and “weekends,” so the reader can follow your main concerns. However, the range is basic and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “work” and “time.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “mently,” “socidal,” “shedules” and “childerens,” as well as unnatural expressions like “pay any little attention” and “attemp socidal attempt.” These errors sometimes make the message harder to understand. Build a more precise range for discussing wellbeing and work-life balance, and check spelling and common word combinations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences using “because,” “when” and “if,” and the overall meaning is often recoverable. However, sentence structures are limited and many attempts at complex sentences contain frequent errors. For example, “more work will tired the worker mind” has an incorrect verb construction, while “they did not be able” and “their personal life will also disturb” show problems with verb forms and sentence patterns. Agreement and articles are also inconsistent, as in “worker is present” and “it also have.” Punctuation is weak: several sentences run together without spaces after full stops. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then build longer sentences with correct verb forms and punctuation.
