Student answer (Band 6.5)
Today's world has become more competitive day by day. In order to progress in business, worker should be performed better. If the working week is reduced and workers are provided a longer weekend, it will improve their mental health which will also help to improve their performace. For this reason I strongly agree with the statement.
There are lots of advantages if the worker has longer holidays and shorter working period. Firstly, it will provide them engouh time for relaxation. In addition, they can spend some quality time with their friends and families. As a result, it will help to reduce the monotony of their busy working schedule. Secondly, if they have less working hours, they will work more effectively without wasting time. Moreover, they will provide more productive work within a short period of time, which will ultimately increase the profit of the company or business. Finally, when they will be given a longer vacation, they will be both mentally and physically fit for the work. For example, if the working hour is reduced from 8 hours to 6 hours and 3 days of weekend is given to the employees, they will best use their limited time to earn more money and give their best performance. Furthermore, companies can provide some online training or courses in the weekend so that they can complete these sitting on their own home which will help to improve their skills.
On the other hand, if the working week is increased and the weekend is reduced then will negatively affect on the workers health. Therefore, higher workload can create depression among the workers. As a result, the company may face a serious economic loss.
In conclusion, opinions may vary, in my perspective, worker should be given shorter working week along with longer weekend.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I strongly agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the main issue with relevant reasons: more time to relax and spend with family, improved effectiveness, and better worker health. The example of reducing the day from eight hours to six gives the argument some practical support, and you also explain a possible consequence of longer hours. To strengthen the response further, develop the links between shorter hours and higher productivity rather than presenting them as certain outcomes. The point about companies offering online training is relevant but briefly added; explain more clearly how it supports your position. Overall, the task is addressed and the ideas are extended, though some claims are generalised or unevenly developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting benefits, a contrasting paragraph, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Finally,” and “On the other hand” make the progression easy to follow. This meets the lower-band expectation for coherent arrangement and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, the benefits paragraph contains several points in succession, so the relationships between them can feel list-like rather than fully developed. “Moreover,” “As a result,” and “Furthermore” are used frequently, sometimes mechanically. The contrast paragraph is also short and does not fully balance the detailed preceding paragraph. Group related ideas and use clearer references between sentences to make cohesion more natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including topic-relevant terms such as “monotony,” “workload,” “productive,” and “economic loss.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, but inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations limit precision: “performace,” “engouh,” “longer holidays,” and “best use their limited time” are examples. Some phrases are vague or unnatural, such as “progress in business” and “provide more productive work.” These choices do not prevent the reader from understanding your argument, but they make the writing less fluent and precise. Aim to learn common word partnerships for work and productivity, and proofread spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional clauses (“If the working week is reduced…”) and a relative clause (“which will ultimately increase the profit…”). Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur. For example, “worker should be performed better” has an incorrect verb construction, while “when they will be given” uses an unsuitable future form after “when.” In “then will negatively affect,” the sentence lacks a clear subject, and “worker should be given” needs plural agreement or an article. These errors do not usually obstruct meaning, but they reduce accuracy. Practise subject–verb agreement, conditional and time-clause forms, and complete sentence construction while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
