Student answer (Band 6.5)
Weekends are the most awaited days of the week for a working person. After enormous workload of the weekdays, weekend is the time, when workers can finally have relaxed time. I agree with the statement that the week days should have been shortened so that workers can enjoy a longer weekend.
On general basis, workers get one or two days off weekly. This helps them to forget all the tiredness and pressure of work during the weekdays. However, some workers work far from their families. Consequently, shorter weekend doesn't allow them to visit their families. The workers eventually feel homesick as well as don't perform their duties sincerely. Lack of concentration in work results in poor outcome. Longer weekdays often seem to be monotonous and workers get fatigued. Hence, they tend to finish the work as soon as possible, regardless not paying attention to accuracy of their duties.
Furthermore, a long break from work allow them to pursue their hobbies so that they can stay motivated and their minds can be cheerful as well. Pursuing hobbies often stimulates to develop their creative qualities as well as refreshes their minds.
From my perspective, shorter weekdays and longer weekend provide the opportunities to a person to become innovative by exploring their personal interests as well as it improves the quality of services, which they have to perform during their working hours.
In conclusion, it can be said that longer weekends facilitate people to enjoy their life and it also boosts them for conducting their responsibilities in work in more productive ways.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction—“I agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the main issue by explaining that longer weekends could help workers visit family, recover from pressure, pursue hobbies and return to work more productively. These are relevant reasons, and the discussion of homesickness and concentration gives the argument some development. However, some claims are broad rather than supported with a specific example or explanation; for instance, the link between hobbies and improved service quality is asserted but not illustrated. The argument would be stronger if you developed fewer points in more depth, perhaps showing how an extra day off could affect a particular worker or workplace.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting related benefits, a paragraph restating your view, and a conclusion. The progression from family time and fatigue to hobbies and productivity is easy to follow, and signposts such as “However,” “Consequently,” and “Furthermore” help guide the reader. Some connections are less smooth or precise, though. The first body paragraph moves from visiting family to work performance and then to monotonous weekdays without fully explaining how each point connects. The final body paragraph also repeats ideas already stated rather than adding a distinct step to the argument. Grouping related effects and using clearer links between cause and result would make the progression more natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “workload,” “homesick,” “monotonous,” “fatigued,” and “motivated.” These choices help communicate the effects of work and rest, and the meaning is generally clear. However, some word choices and combinations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “the most awaited days,” “have relaxed time,” “poor outcome,” and “boosts them for conducting their responsibilities.” There is also repetition of “workers,” “work,” and “longer weekend.” Aim to learn vocabulary in natural collocations and vary repeated terms where appropriate. More precise phrasing would make your argument sound more fluent and controlled without requiring unusually advanced vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “so that,” “as well as,” and “Consequently.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, and the paragraph structure helps the reader follow your ideas. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, agreement, and verb forms. For example, “weekend is the time” needs an article, “a long break from work allow” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “shorter weekdays and longer weekend provide” has an agreement and number problem. The construction “regardless not paying attention” is also grammatically faulty. Review singular and plural subjects, article use, and verb patterns, then proofread each sentence for these issues.
