Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people argue that they should have less working hours in their jobs and relatively a longer weekend should be provided. I agree with this point because in this way individuals have more time to spend with their families and and they will also have some enough time to take care of their health.
We have seen many people don't attend any family gatherings because their long duty hours don't make it possible for them to be at the table each time. This always had a negative impact on their social images and ultimately they also don't considered themselves to be part of their families. Such as many job holders don't take part actively in the whatsapp chart groups. I have seen many workers just like to take rest in their room after they came from work. If their job hours are comparatively less than before they will definitely find some time to spend with friends and families and they will enjoy this experience and they will also tend to socialise.
Admittedly, majority of the people are away from the healthy lifestyle. Long duty hours are making it very difficult for everyone to do exercise which ultimately leads to poor health status. Only few individuals are spending some time in gyms because of their busy schedules. If people are provided with longer weekends, they will get opportunity to spend some time on their health and flexible weekdays will allow them to be more active and healthy due to change in their preferences.
In conclusion, I argue for better social status and health, the employers should make working hours less and a longer weekend should be allowed.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you agree that working hours should be reduced and weekends extended. You give two relevant reasons—more time for family and social life, and more opportunity to exercise—and support them with examples such as workers missing family gatherings and having little time for the gym. This addresses the task, but the reasons are not equally well developed. The social-life paragraph includes several related points, while the health paragraph makes broad claims without a specific example or explanation of how a longer weekend would improve health in practice. To strengthen the response, explain each reason more fully and connect the examples directly to the proposed shorter working week.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph on family and social life, one on health, and a concluding statement. The progression from one reason to the next is easy to follow, and phrases such as “Admittedly” and “In conclusion” signal the stages of the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “This always had a negative impact” does not clearly identify what “This” refers to, and the repeated use of “and” in the opening sentence makes the relationship between ideas less controlled. The examples about WhatsApp groups and resting after work could also be linked more explicitly to the main point. Use clearer referencing and vary how you connect supporting details.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate both main reasons, including relevant terms such as “family gatherings,” “healthy lifestyle,” “busy schedules,” and “socialise.” There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “negative impact on their social images.” However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, which limits clarity and control. For instance, “less working hours” and “long duty hours” are not idiomatic in this context, while “social images” does not accurately express the intended effect on relationships. “Whatsapp chart groups” also appears to mean WhatsApp chat groups. Aim for more natural collocations and precise wording, and check spelling and word forms so that your ideas sound fluent and appropriate for an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If people are provided with longer weekends, they will get opportunity…” and clauses explaining consequences. The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make relationships between ideas less clear. Examples include “they will also have some enough time,” “they also don't considered themselves,” and “Only few individuals,” which show problems with determiner use, verb forms, and agreement. The opening also repeats “and,” and some long sentences would benefit from clearer punctuation or division. Practise accurate conditional and verb patterns, as well as articles and quantifiers; then review each sentence for agreement and unnecessary repetition.
