Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadyas the workers are work should be weekend longer work with shorter work in week. so, i m agree the shorter workers in weekend.

Firstly the some peoples not a enjoy the weekend work bardan are very fast moving in your life and long works are not ae enjoy the life. for instance some peoples are very hard work in weekends and peoples are metaly torcher and not a relax and longer work is a big effect on your not a spend time in your family and friends. And your family and freinds are far in your life and this is a not good for your mind . your mind is very stresful and your condition is down.so the shorter work is very good for your health and some time you are spend time in your family and your friends.

Secondly this is a very big problem creaite in your life long worker are lost the your skills and your learning and other skills are down . A one day your body is not a moving and you are not a work . Then go the mind is realized your not a enjoy the life just a non stop working . But your time is finished and you make a big mistake on your life. so the shorter work is not a big bardan and you free time in mind relax and you start the gaming and upgrade the skills and experience .

In consulation, longer work is peoples rae very bad effect in your life . And the shorter work is well for your health and you are spend time with family and some time chose to to your activty . so my opinion is shorter work is best in human life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that the working week should be shorter, and you give relevant reasons, especially the effects on health and time with family and friends. The second body paragraph adds another relevant point about workers losing opportunities to develop skills. However, the ideas are only partly developed. For example, you say that long hours cause stress and harm family life, but you do not explain how a shorter week would address these problems or give a specific example. The point about skills is also unclear: explain how extra free time could support learning or work performance. A more precise explanation of what “shorter” means and fuller support for each reason would make the response more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify your main reasons and overall opinion. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because several ideas are joined into long, loosely connected sentences, and links such as “so” and “and” are repeated. For instance, the first body paragraph moves from weekend work to stress, family time, and health without clearly separating the points. Some references, including “your condition” and “this,” are also unclear. Use shorter sentences, give each paragraph a clear central idea, and connect each explanation directly to that idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You communicate the main topic using basic vocabulary such as “weekend,” “family,” “health,” “skills,” and “relax.” There are also attempts to express more complex ideas, including “stressful” and “upgrade the skills.” However, the vocabulary is limited and repetitive, and frequent spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make meaning difficult to understand. Examples include “metaly torcher,” “bard an,” “ra e very bad effect,” and “activty.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “longer work” and “shorter workers,” where you mean longer working hours and a shorter working week. Build a bank of accurate topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations so your ideas can be expressed more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to organise ideas with simple statements and some longer sentences using “because,” “and,” and “so,” but sentence structures are limited and many attempts at longer sentences are difficult to follow. Errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “i m agree” should be “I agree,” while “some peoples not a enjoy” needs a clearer structure such as “some people do not enjoy.” In “you are spend time,” the verb form is incorrect; use “you can spend time.” Missing or misplaced punctuation also causes run-on sentences, particularly in the first body paragraph. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine related ideas using controlled clauses and consistent punctuation.
