Student answer (Band 6.0)

It often argued that length of working days should be shorter and employe's should have long weekends. I completely agree with this view because it promote productivity and it also give chance to learn new things in life.

Firstly, it improves the performence of the employe which benefits both the individual and organization. If working week is long people won't get enough time to recharge their batteries and they feel stressed so that they cant perform well. However, longer weekend give so much time to relax and also to spend time on thier hobbies, when workers were active and healthy they may return to the workplace with high interst. Therefore, workers are more creative at organization which helps to get good results.

Secondly, this enhance the knowledge and provide oppurtunities to learn skills. When workers focus most of the time on work they may not get oppurtunity to explore and learn about different cultures and fields to develop thier skills. Nevertheless, having less working days give chance to commute to many places and explore the tradition of that country and also to learn new modren technologies which may not be available in the own country. For instance, Deeplearing course is well structured in mumbai, people who are for away from that city will get extra time to travel overthere and learn that skill. Hence, by having more free time provides advantage to grasp new skills.

In concluse, I fully agree that authorities should give longer weekend to the employes because it promote their engery and improve results. In addition, gives spare time to learn new skills.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the opening and conclusion: you agree that workers should have longer weekends. Both main reasons are relevant—improved performance and opportunities to learn—and the discussion of rest, hobbies and skill development gives the response a sound basis. The example of travelling to Mumbai for a deep-learning course also attempts to make the second point concrete. However, some claims are not fully explained: the link between longer weekends and learning about other cultures is broad, and the course example could clarify how a shorter working week makes this practical. The conclusion repeats the main points rather than drawing them together. More precise explanation and support for each reason would make the argument more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs organised around separate reasons, and a conclusion. Sequencing expressions such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. This gives the essay a coherent progression, though some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Nevertheless” does not express a clear contrast in the second body paragraph, and “Hence, by having more free time provides advantage” does not connect smoothly to the preceding example. Some references, such as “this” in “this enhance the knowledge,” are also not fully clear. Use linking phrases that show the exact relationship between ideas, and make each example lead explicitly back to the paragraph’s main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “recharge their batteries,” “perform well,” “creative,” and “develop their skills.” These choices help communicate your main ideas, and there is some attempt to use less common language, such as “opportunities” and “tradition.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable, including “performence,” “oppurtunities,” “engery,” and “for away.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “commute to many places” and “learn new modren technologies.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall argument, but they reduce precision and fluency. Check spelling carefully and choose collocations that express your intended meaning directly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional clauses (“If working week is long…”) and time clauses (“When workers focus…”). This provides some variety, and the main message is generally understandable. However, errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “it promote productivity” and “longer weekend give” need subject–verb agreement, while “In addition, gives spare time” is an incomplete sentence. The construction “Hence, by having more free time provides advantage” also combines structures incorrectly. Review articles and plurals as well as agreement, and check that each sentence has a complete subject and verb. More accurate control of these patterns would strengthen the complex sentences you are attempting.
