Student answer (Band 6.0)

The debate on the working days in the week is still in demand. People debate that they should have more holidays on the weekend that obviously in return shrink the working week. In my prespective, working five days in the week is perfect with the 2 holidays on the weekend.

Decrease the working days in the week will result in incease in the pressure of work load on an employees. The work they have to done on five days, the same tasks they have to done in the 3 or 4 days that make pressure of work on the employee and in result they get frustrated. To illustrate, if the person have to complete 20 task in week they just need to do 4 each day in 5 working day week, while in 4 working days week it has to complete the 5 task in a day increse the work load and effort of the individual.

In addition, I think just to relax and for the peace of mind 2 days weekend is enough. Just by the long weekend the employes bacame lazy and further they fell depressed if they remain free for a long time. Last but not least long weekends also result the damage of sleepcycles of the people.

In essence, the 5 working days is perfect for the healthy lifestyle with modertate amount of work presssure and to enjoy the lifes on the weekend. But in today's world where ai making the task easy and frequent to do my thaught may be proven wrong in view of workload, whereas the weekend is of only 2 days view i think is not challenge able

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you support keeping a five-day working week, and both main body paragraphs give relevant reasons. The workload example—completing 20 tasks across four rather than five days—helps explain your concern about pressure. You also address the weekend’s effect on rest and routine. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the claim that longer weekends make employees “lazy” or “depressed” needs a clearer explanation or evidence. The conclusion introduces AI as a possible reason your view could change, which slightly weakens the otherwise firm position and is not developed. Explain how shorter weeks affect productivity or wellbeing, and keep the conclusion consistent with your stated view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction states your view, two paragraphs present reasons, and a conclusion summarises your position. Connectors such as “To illustrate,” “In addition,” and “In essence” help signal the stages of the argument. This gives the essay a coherent overall arrangement. To make the progression more consistently clear, ensure each paragraph develops one central point and that links between claims are explicit. In the second body paragraph, relaxation, laziness, depression, and sleep cycles appear in quick succession without showing how they relate. The final sentence is also difficult to follow because it combines the AI qualification with a comment about the weekend. Clearer sentence boundaries and more precise referencing would make cohesion less mechanical and easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “work load,” “pressure,” “frustrated,” “peace of mind,” and “sleep cycles,” so the reader can understand the main ideas. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “In essence.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “prespective,” “incease,” “employes,” and “modertate.” Some combinations are unnatural or unclear, such as “the debate … is still in demand,” “damage of sleepcycles,” and “my thaught may be proven wrong.” Aim to learn common collocations for work and wellbeing, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More accurate phrasing would help your ideas sound clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if the person have to complete 20 task.” This shows an effort to explain and compare ideas, but control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms and agreement occur in phrases such as “Decrease the working days … will result” and “the person have to complete”; the latter also needs a plural noun in “20 task.” Other sentence patterns are difficult to follow, particularly “the same tasks they have to done in the 3 or 4 days.” The conclusion’s final sentence joins several ideas without clear grammatical boundaries. Practise forming complete clauses, matching subjects and verbs, and using consistent sentence punctuation. Greater accuracy in these areas would make your reasoning easier to understand.
