Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address the topic by presenting a concern that shorter hours could reduce company performance and a benefit in workers having more time for family, festivals, and additional income. However, the response does not clearly answer whether you agree or disagree: the introduction promises to explain “both views,” and the conclusion gives advantages and disadvantages without stating your own position. Several points are also difficult to follow or remain undeveloped, such as how shorter hours would prevent companies from communicating with employees. The response is 16 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. State your position directly and develop each main reason with a clear explanation or relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation: an opening, paragraphs covering disadvantages and benefits, and a concluding paragraph. Linking expressions such as “Initially,” “Furthermore,” and “To conclusion” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear, and some connections are mechanical or inaccurate. For example, “To elaborate” is repeated without adding a clear explanation, while “Therefore” introduces a point that does not clearly follow from the preceding sentence. Short fragments such as “and delay works” and “and enhance their daily income” interrupt the flow. Use topic sentences that identify each paragraph’s main point, then connect each explanation and example logically; avoid starting incomplete sentences with “and.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “leisure time,” “strict schedule,” “balance,” and “financially stable,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make ideas unclear, such as “people’s mind distractions,” “file works,” and “interpret with their employees.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “dilay,” “fullfile,” and “employ.” Aim for more precise phrases for workplace communication and productivity, and check spelling and word forms carefully. Reusing broad terms such as “free time” and “works” also makes the response repetitive; more specific vocabulary would help distinguish family time, rest, and paid work.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer clauses, for example, “If jobs can give specific holiday so that employees freely celebrate festivals,” but the longer structures are often faulty. Errors in verb forms and agreement appear in “hours should be reduce,” “they involves,” and “an individual have.” Articles and sentence construction are also inconsistent, as in “become a lazy” and “If jobs can give specific holiday.” Several fragments and punctuation problems affect readability, including “and delay works” and the lower-case sentence beginning “employees.” These errors sometimes make the intended relationships difficult to understand. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles, and punctuation when editing.
