Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the question by supporting a shorter working week and longer weekends, and you give relevant reasons: improved employee wellbeing, more family time, motivation and loyalty. The examples involving technology companies also show an attempt to connect your claims to workplace practice. However, the position is not fully clear throughout: the opening presents both sides, while the conclusion begins “having longer weekend as many cons but pros overweight” and then stops before completing the thought. The counterargument about start-ups is relevant, but its effect on your overall view is not explained. To strengthen the response, state your position directly in the introduction and conclusion, and develop the start-up concern before explaining why the benefits still outweigh it.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, supporting paragraphs, a counterargument and a conclusion. Paragraphs generally group related ideas, and transitions such as “Furthermore” and “In contrary” signal changes in direction. However, connections between claims are sometimes unclear or mechanical. For example, the link between weekend programmes and employees becoming “hyperactive” is not explained, and the sentence about Apple’s facilities and possible leaks introduces a new point without clearly showing how it supports the argument. The final sentence is incomplete, so the conclusion does not bring the discussion to a clear close. Use clearer links between each reason and its consequence, and make sure each paragraph develops one central point in a logical sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “reputation,” “motivated,” “efficiency,” “loyal” and “innovation.” These choices show an effort to discuss workplace benefits beyond basic ideas. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow, as in “debet,” “hecktic,” “issential,” “guild” and “overweight.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “hyperactive responce” and “greater output.” This limits the clarity and flexibility of your vocabulary. Build a reliable set of collocations for work and wellbeing, and check spelling and word forms carefully. Prefer precise phrases such as “employee productivity” or “work-life balance” where they fit your meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including cause-and-effect structures such as “they will get more time to spend with their family that will lead to…” and a contrastive paragraph about small companies. However, control is uneven: some sentences lack a clear grammatical structure, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and punctuation sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to follow. For example, “Companies need to understand give longer weekend will not decline…” needs a complete clause after “understand,” while “those who has started there company” has an agreement problem. The conclusion also ends with an unfinished sentence. Practise building accurate complex sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and proofread for sentence boundaries, articles and agreement.
