Student answer (Band 5.5)

The quality of work done, is highly depended on the mental and physical health of the empolyees responsible for doing that work. It is recommended that a employee must hold a fresh and active mind in order to boost the creativity and innovation in the work he is doing.

Working for straight 8 hours for five days a week could led to a stressful mind. As a result, a person can become extremely frustrating and this state could directly impact the quality of the work he is doing. So in order to enchance the productivity of the work, a person must do it with a calm mindset.

In order to achieve this mindset, the working week should be shorter and worker should have a longer weekend. In this way, workers do have long time to do rest and relieve the stress they carry on themselves. Even after doing work for few hours but with absolute focus and concentration, it could bring more productivity and efficient results in our work.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear: you agree that the working week should be shorter, and you connect rest with reduced stress and better productivity. These points are relevant, but the response addresses the task only partially because the reasons remain general and are not supported with a specific example or fuller explanation. For instance, you say that a shorter week gives workers time to rest, but do not explain how this might improve performance in a particular workplace or acknowledge a possible drawback. The response is also 81 words below the required minimum, which limits the opportunity to develop your argument. To strengthen it, explain each main reason in more depth and include a relevant example before concluding.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The ideas follow a broadly understandable sequence: you introduce the link between health and work quality, describe stress, and then recommend a shorter week. Connectors such as “As a result,” “So,” and “In this way” help show relationships between points. However, the response is presented as one continuous block rather than clearly developed paragraphs, and some links feel mechanical. The final sentence introduces the idea of working fewer hours with greater focus, but its relationship to a shorter working week could be made clearer. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons and conclusion, and make sure each sentence develops the point before moving to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “mental and physical health,” “creativity and innovation,” “stress,” and “focus and concentration.” These choices make your main ideas understandable. However, several inaccurate word choices, word forms and spelling errors reduce precision, such as “highly depended” and “extremely frustrating,” where the intended meaning appears to be that workers become frustrated. “Enchance” and “empolyees” are also misspelled. Some phrases, including “do rest” and “the work he is doing,” are repetitive or unnatural. Aim to use accurate collocations and vary repeated wording; proofreading spelling and checking whether a word describes a person or a situation will improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including a relative clause in “the employees responsible for doing that work” and a conditional-style sentence beginning “In order to achieve this mindset.” The overall meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “a employee” needs the correct article, “could led” uses the wrong verb form after a modal, and “worker should have” needs a plural or an article. The opening comma in “The quality of work done, is…” is also unnecessary. Review articles, subject–verb agreement and modal verb patterns, and check punctuation around introductory phrases. More accurate control of these forms would make your argument easier to read.
