Student answer (Band 5.0)

I disagree with the given statement that working week should be shorter and weekend should be longer for workers

There should be consistancy between working weeks and weekends in my opinion worker shuld work atleast four days a week with minimum of fourty hours this will helps them in making good money for there expances

If the working week is shorter it effects their pockets

The less work will lead to depression and anxity if the demand reduces More work will also takes a companies to profit in many ways .More working hours also helps workers to grow in there companies with promotions The short working week also effects companies growth

On the other hand weekends also important for rest

and enjoyments Every body wants long weekends to spend with family and friends we usually see lot of workers miss there family gatherings due to there busy schedules .companys should increase there hours to make weekends more longer .In longer weekends workers can get chance to make big plans with family and friends to go out for travels It also helps them to

take care of there kids if the partner is working they can cook for them to make them happy

In conclusion we can say that longer working week week is helpful for a person in many aspacts rather than weekends it increase there ability to work More working hours will help them to achieve more thing what they want it also helps them to expand there business and helps them to fullfill there needs

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear: you disagree with a shorter working week, and you give reasons related to income, career progress and company growth. You also acknowledge the appeal of longer weekends, mentioning family time and caring for children, so the response engages with both sides of the issue. However, the argument is only partially developed. For example, “The less work will lead to depression and anxiety” is asserted without explaining why or giving an example, and the claim that longer hours help companies is not supported with specific reasoning. The discussion also shifts between supporting longer working weeks and longer weekends, leaving the central position less consistent. Develop fewer points with clearer explanation and examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic overall structure, with an opening position, a paragraph about working hours, a paragraph recognising the benefits of weekends, and a conclusion. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow because several ideas are joined together without clear links or sentence boundaries. The transition “On the other hand” signals a contrast, but the paragraph then argues that companies should increase hours to make weekends longer, which makes the relationship between the ideas unclear. Repeated references to “more working hours” and “longer weekends” also create a repetitive flow. Use one main idea per paragraph and connect each supporting point explicitly to your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “promotions,” “family gatherings,” “busy schedules” and “achieve.” These choices help communicate ideas about work, income and personal life. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make parts of the response harder to understand, such as “effects their pockets,” “make big plans” and “expand there business.” Repeated use of “helps,” “working hours” and “longer” also limits variety. Aim for more precise phrases and check spelling carefully; for example, use “affects workers’ finances” rather than “effects their pockets,” and “career advancement” rather than “grow in their companies with promotions.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including “If the working week is shorter it effects their pockets” and the sentence about workers missing family gatherings. However, the range of structures is limited, and frequent errors in sentence formation and punctuation sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “worker shuld work atleast four days a week with minimum of fourty hours this will helps them” combines clauses without punctuation and has an incorrect verb form. There are also agreement and article problems, as in “The less work will lead” and “a companies growth.” Practise separating complete ideas with full stops, and check subject–verb agreement and verb forms when writing longer sentences.
