Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, it is a debate that the length of the working week should be less and employed should have a longer weekend. I completely agree with this point of view because the individuals would have more time for their families and spend a quality time with their parents and children. On the other hand they will also feel more productive and energetic at the start of next working week.

Significantly, the long weekend should have more advantages as they shall have more leisure time and they can do all their tasks easily. Moreover, they should have more time to spend with their friends and family members. Because at the week days the indivoiduals are more anxious and frustated due to the work load and they don't have enough time to spend with their family. For instance, an employe r who works 5 to 6 days a week from morning to evening don't have enough time for the family but if the length of weekend should increase they shall have more free time and they shall go for outing and spend quality time with family.

Moreover, at the end of the weekend the individuals should feel fresh, active and more creative for the next working week. Similarly, their capabilities shall enhance and they will go happily to the work next day. Because the working load cause stress which effect their mental health due to that they become less productive and not be able to do their task whole heartedly which is the disadvantage of the long working week days.

In the sum up , i says that long week days should be encouraged due to which the people can do better work in less days due to calmlness of the mind.In contrast the long week days cause boredom and condition of anxiety.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the opening: “I completely agree,” and you give relevant reasons, especially more time with family and improved energy and productivity. The example of an employee working long days helps illustrate the family-time argument. This addresses the task, but the two main ideas are not developed equally: the productivity point is asserted rather than supported with a specific explanation or example, and the discussion does not explain how a shorter working week could be organised or why it would benefit workers overall. The conclusion also introduces “long week days” rather than clearly restating your support for a shorter working week. Develop each reason with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation and keep the position consistent.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the family-time point is followed by a relevant example. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. For example, “Because at the week days…” is a fragment that interrupts the flow, while “Moreover,” “Similarly,” and “Because” are used mechanically or do not clearly show the relationship between ideas. The second body paragraph moves from feeling refreshed to mental health and then to the disadvantages of long working weeks without fully connecting these points. Use complete topic sentences, link each explanation directly to its main claim, and make references such as “they” and “this” unambiguous.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “leisure time,” “productive,” “anxious,” and “mental health,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. Phrases such as “spend a quality time,” “go for outing,” and “calmness of the mind” do not sound natural in this context; “work load” and “long week days” are also imprecise. Spelling errors such as “indovoiduals,” “frustated,” and “employe” reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of expressions for working hours, rest and productivity, and check spelling and collocations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “because” and “which,” and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in longer sentences. “Because at the week days…” is an incomplete sentence, and “an employer who works … don’t have” has a subject–verb agreement error. Other examples include “the working load cause stress” and “which effect their mental health,” where agreement and verb forms need correction. Articles, plurals and punctuation also need attention, as in “a quality time” and the missing space after “children.” Practise building accurate complex sentences, then check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly matched verb.
