Student answer (Band 5.5)

Well, everyone in this world is debating the number of working days in a week . Some people prefer long weeken but some argue that weekends should be short.

I personally believe that minimum off in a week will provide more advantages and is more preferable option. Because it can really helps in the country's progress and in your personal growth as well . When you work more days in a week , your company will also grows . you also have chance to get promotion . We have many example in real life . After nuclear attack in Japan , the whole nation contributes in its progress by working day and night . And now Japan is a way ahead in technology from the rest of world .

Further you do not get burdenize by workng more days . You distribute your fewer days work into more days and you can complete your work comfortably and feel relax. This will improve your mental and physical health. And you work more efficiently .

And if you get too many off , you become lazy . And lazziness is not good for your life achievments and purposes of life.

So everyone has its own preference , but in my opinion weekends should not be long enough that you become lazy .

Its better solution is get minimum off during weekend and when you get tired too much of you job , take off from your work for 5-10 days and hang up with your family or friends

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is generally clear: you favour fewer days off, arguing that working more can support company and national progress and that too much time off may encourage laziness. These points are relevant to the question, and the Japan example gives an attempt at support. However, the response only partly develops the argument. The link between longer working weeks and promotion or national progress is asserted rather than explained, and the Japan example is broad and not clearly connected to the proposed weekend length. The final suggestion to take five to ten days off when tired also complicates your position without explaining how it fits your view. Develop fewer points with specific reasoning and examples, and state precisely whether you support a shorter working week or oppose it.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is a recognisable overall sequence: you introduce the debate, state your view, give reasons, and finish with a recommendation. Paragraph breaks also help separate the main stages. However, progression within the body is sometimes difficult to follow because many ideas are added in short, loosely connected sentences. Repeated openings such as “And” and “Further” make the linking mechanical, while “Because” begins a sentence that depends on the previous one. The relationship between working more days, company growth, personal promotion, and the Japan example needs clearer explanation. Group related points into focused paragraphs and use linking expressions to show cause, contrast, and example more precisely; this would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to work and wellbeing, including “promotion,” “progress,” “efficiently,” and “mental and physical health.” This is enough to communicate the general topic, but the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make parts less clear. For example, “minimum off” and “burdenize by workng” do not express your intended meaning naturally, while “hang up with your family” is an unsuitable phrase in this context. There are also misspellings such as “weeken,” “lazziness,” and “achievments.” Build a more accurate set of phrases for discussing working hours and rest, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your response includes mostly simple sentence patterns and attempts some longer structures, such as “When you work more days in a week, your company will also grows.” However, these attempts often contain errors, and frequent problems with agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries sometimes make the meaning harder to follow. Examples include “it can really helps,” “your company will also grows,” and “the whole nation contributes,” where the verb forms do not match the sentence structure or time reference. Several sentence fragments also appear, including “Because it can really helps…” and “And if you get too many off…”. Practise forming complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, then use a wider mix of accurate simple and complex structures.
