Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that the professional job days should be shorter and employees should have longer weekend. In my opinion, shorter days are more preferred by the workers as individuals in this generation are more enthusiastic to finish their work early and leave.
One of the main reasons why i agree with this statment is that employees are more motivated to come to work early and give their full energy to work so that they could leave as soon as possible. This is because they want to be physically and mentally in peace so that they don't have tiring life. For instance, corporate jobs are sometimes very boring which makes day to day life of a person exacly the same lowering their motivation to work everyday moreover, shorter days and longer weekends can make them excited about work.
Another important reason is that, better work life balance as individuals will have more time to spend with their family instead of working till late hours going home tired and laziness all around.Additionally, they can pursue their hobbies in free time for example people who like to paint can actually take out time to do what they love. They can aslo travel to meet their loved ones if they live far away.Furthermore, long weekends can help them take care of their personal responsibilities.
In conclusion,i firmly believe workers need a break from their job life to live freely which long weekends can provide it can also reduce work related stress and prevent burnout which is good for workers mental health.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you agree that workers should have shorter working days and longer weekends. You give relevant reasons, including greater motivation, time with family, hobbies, travel, and reduced stress, and the examples about painting and visiting distant relatives help make the benefits concrete. This covers the task well overall. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the link between leaving early and giving “their full energy” could be developed, and the claim that shorter days make workers more excited about work needs clearer reasoning. The response also focuses more on longer weekends than on how the working week itself should be shortened. Develop that distinction and support each main claim more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present reasons, and a conclusion restates your position. Ideas generally progress from motivation to work-life balance, and linking expressions such as “For instance,” “Additionally,” and “Furthermore” help guide the reader. This gives the essay a coherent arrangement. At times, however, connections feel mechanical or unclear. The first body paragraph moves from boring corporate jobs to shorter days without fully explaining the relationship, while the final sentence combines several conclusions without clear punctuation. Use fewer connectors where the relationship is already obvious, and make each paragraph’s central point explicit before adding examples and explanation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including relevant terms such as “work life balance,” “personal responsibilities,” and “work related stress.” There are also attempts to express less routine ideas, such as “physically and mentally” and “prevent burnout.” However, word choice and collocation are often imprecise or repetitive, which limits clarity: “professional job days,” “more preferred,” and “in peace” do not sound natural in this context. Spelling errors such as “statment,” “exacly,” and “aslo” are noticeable, and several phrases repeat general words such as “work” and “time.” Build a more accurate range of workplace vocabulary and check spelling and natural word combinations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “so that,” “which,” and “if,” and the overall meaning is usually understandable. Some sentence patterns are controlled, such as “They can also travel to meet their loved ones if they live far away.” However, errors in sentence boundaries, punctuation, and grammatical structure recur. For example, “Another important reason is that, better work life balance” is not a complete grammatical construction, and the conclusion joins several clauses without appropriate punctuation. Capitalisation is also inconsistent, as in “i,” and spaces after full stops are often missing. Practise forming complete sentences and punctuating longer clauses; this will make your range of structures clearer and more accurate.
