Do you agree or disagree?

Student answer (Band 5.5)
The working hours in a week should be shorter and employees should have extra time in their weekends.I strongly agree with this view beacuse weekend is essential for learning new skills and spend times with your family.
Firstly, A longer weekend will help to manage more time for improving our job skills and social skills. For instance, learning coding, communication skills, presentation skills, while
you can also mannage time for your hobbies such as painting, singing, dancing etc.
Secondly, a longer weekend can also be helpfull to plan trips and spend time with family.
A good holiday is important for a good work life balance and for a healthy mental space.
After that, good skills are important for promotions at company, while your soft skills can make you attractive for employees and clients which has several benifits. Also a healthy mind can mannage your behaviour well in which trips with family are very important.
moreover, maintaining healthy relationships with your close one can feel you secure for any circumstances at your job sector.
In conclusion, I firmly agree with the statement in which the worktimes in a week should be tiny and employees should have extra time in their weekend for their skills improvement and managing time for their family and freinds. Both can balance their job life as well as personal life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you strongly agree that the working week should be shorter, and you give relevant reasons involving skill development, family time and work–life balance. Examples such as learning coding or presentation skills help illustrate the first point. However, the response does not fully develop the argument: it does not explain how a shorter working week would produce these benefits, and the points about promotions, mental health and relationships are asserted rather than supported. The response is also below the required 250 words, so there is limited space to explain your ideas. To strengthen the answer, develop two main reasons with specific explanations or examples and make the link between shorter hours and longer weekends explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can follow its general focus on skills and family life. You also use signposting such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “In conclusion.” However, progression is not consistently clear: “After that” introduces another point without showing how it relates to the previous paragraph, while “moreover” begins a new idea within the same paragraph. Some connections are repetitive or unclear, and the conclusion largely repeats the introduction. Organise the body around two distinct reasons, use each paragraph to explain one reason, and connect examples directly to the point they support. This would make the overall progression clearer and reduce reliance on formulaic linking phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “work life balance,” “soft skills,” “promotions” and “healthy relationships,” and the examples of hobbies make your meaning understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which keeps the expression from being consistently clear and natural. For example, “attractive for employees and clients” does not clearly express the intended benefit, and “tiny” is not an appropriate way to describe working hours. Spelling errors such as “beacuse,” “mannage,” “helpfull” and “benifits” are noticeable. Build a more precise set of phrases for discussing working hours, wellbeing and career development, and proofread spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause in “I strongly agree … because weekend is essential” and a relative clause in “which has several benefits.” However, control is uneven, and errors in sentence construction, verb forms, articles and punctuation occur often enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “can also be helpful to plan trips” needs a clearer grammatical structure, while “maintaining healthy relationships … can feel you secure” has an incorrect verb pattern. The opening also joins sentences without adequate spacing or punctuation. Practise building accurate subject–verb structures and check articles and verb patterns before adding longer clauses; then use a wider range of complex forms with greater control.
