Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You take a clear position in favour of a longer weekend, stating, “I completely agree,” and your main reason—that time with family and friends can reduce stress and improve productivity—is relevant to the question. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: this reason is repeated rather than developed, and there is no specific example or explanation of how a shorter working week would work in practice. The conclusion is also absent. The response contains 115 words, so it is 135 words below the required minimum of 250. To strengthen your answer, develop at least two distinct reasons, support them with a concrete example, and finish by restating your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the opening gives your opinion, and the next paragraph presents a reason related to family time and productivity. This gives the reader a general sense of your argument. However, progression is limited because the same idea is repeated several times, and the second paragraph moves between points without clear links. For example, “After the meeting” is not clearly connected to the preceding sentence, while “such as parents…” introduces an example without developing it. The standalone “Because” also creates a fragment rather than a smooth connection. Use a clear paragraph plan, connect each explanation to its main point, and add a concluding paragraph.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “efficiency,” “productivity,” “stress level,” and “performance.” These terms help communicate your central argument, but the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, especially “productivity level” and “long weekend.” Some word choices and forms are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “happiness” where “feel happier” would fit, and “childrens” instead of “children.” Spelling errors such as “belive” and “emplyees” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of topic-related expressions and check spelling and collocations; for example, you could describe employees as “more productive” rather than repeatedly referring to their “productivity level.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Your response mainly uses simple sentence patterns, with a few attempts to explain cause and effect. The meaning is generally recoverable, but grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For instance, “many people spent” does not use the appropriate present-tense form for a general statement, and “Because they spent time with families” is an incomplete sentence. There are also problems with sentence boundaries and punctuation, as in “they feel happiness, The stress level will be decreased.” Practise forming complete sentences and joining clauses accurately with conjunctions. Then check verb tense, articles, and punctuation, while gradually adding controlled complex sentences.
