Student answer (Band 6.0)
People agure about wheather the working week should be longer or the weekend. I disagree with the view that weekend should be longer than the working days because longer weekend can harm the productivity and make employees lazy.
Firstly, a shorter working week will reduce the amount of work and eventually reduce the overall efficiency or productivity. If people have less time in the working hours they will not be able to finish their works properly. When people try to solve a problem in a short time there's always a probability of doing mistakes. So doing work in hurry may effect the outcomes of the assigned work. As a result, the company or institutions will face losses in their feild. Less time in office or workplace will hamper the due dates and delay submissions.
Another reason for not to a have longer weekend is that it will make the workers less active. Some people may argue that longer weekend will keep the employees mind fresh to work. But it is not necessary to extend off days every week. One or two occasional vacations are enough for refreshment. Longer vacation in every week will make them less effective in works. If a person stays at home most of the time in a weeek then his working capacity will be reduce gradually. A small working week make a person less motivated toward his works as they do not have to use their skills in solving problems.
In conclusion, the shorter working week than weekend have mostly negative effects. A person must utilize most of his time to maximize skills and be effective in the workplace. Spending a larger weekend will make people dislike their work and less effecttive in the workspace. So having a balance weekend with larger working week will be more beneficial for a person.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you disagree with a shorter working week, and both body paragraphs give relevant reasons—possible productivity losses and reduced worker motivation. You also acknowledge the opposing view that extra time off could refresh employees, which helps address the question. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that a longer weekend would make workers “lazy” or cause them to dislike their work is not supported with a specific example or a clear explanation of how this would happen. The point about occasional vacations is relevant but could be connected more directly to why the regular working week should remain longer. Develop each main reason with a concrete example and a clearer cause-and-effect explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two paragraphs present separate reasons, and a conclusion restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Another reason,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. This organisation is effective, and the opposing view is placed logically within the second body paragraph. To make the links more flexible and precise, reduce repeated references to “longer weekend” and “work,” and make some connections explicit. For instance, the shift from occasional vacations to the claim that weekly time off reduces working capacity needs a clearer bridge. The conclusion also introduces the idea that workers may “dislike their work,” which has not been established in the body. Ensure the final paragraph synthesises the reasons already discussed.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “productivity,” “efficiency,” “assigned work,” “occasional vacations,” and “working capacity.” These choices help communicate your main ideas, and the meaning is generally understandable. However, several spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations reduce accuracy, such as “agure,” “wheather,” “feild,” and “effecttive.” Phrases including “finish their works,” “doing work in hurry,” and “less effective in works” also show difficulty with natural collocation and word forms. Aim to learn vocabulary in complete phrases, and proofread spelling carefully. More precise terms for outcomes, deadlines, and employee performance would help you express your argument with greater control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including conditional and subordinate structures such as “If people have less time…” and “When people try to solve a problem…”. Most of the argument remains understandable, and you use paragraphing and sentence boundaries to organise it. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, agreement, and verb forms. Examples include “weekend should be longer” (missing an article), “A small working week make” (subject–verb agreement), and “his working capacity will be reduce” (incorrect verb form). The opening phrase “I disagree with the view that weekend should be longer than the working days” also needs more accurate sentence construction. Review article use and agreement, then check each sentence for a complete and correctly formed verb phrase.
