Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people believe that working hours should be shorter and workers should be given a longer weekend. I completely agree with this statement beacuse it helps wrokers' improve their overall health and helps them maintain a better work-life balance.
The main reason is that worker should be given shorter working hours because it helps people take rest and improve their health. People get exhausted and stressed from spending long hours working. If People have more day off ,they can rest enough and recover form work over load. For example, if a tech guy who works 8 to 9 hours a day coding, fixing errors and have to watch computer screen continuously which can be very exhasuting , if they have sho free time they can use that time to exercise, sleep and take part in useful activites they enojy. As a result, they can return to work with more motivation and energy and can perform better.
Aother imporatnt reason is that if longer weekend is provided to workers' they can use their precious time to spend time with their friends and families.Nowadays, many people have busy schedule and find it difficult to balance their professional and personal lives. Free time would allow them to spend more time with their children, visit relatives and take vacation with family. For example, father can spend more time with his children and wife, which help strengthen family relationships and overall happiness.
In conclusion, I completely agree that the working week should made be shorter and the weekend should be longer. This allows worker to improve their overall health, reduce stress and enjoy their life, it helps them maintain and balance their healthy professional and personal lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction—“I completely agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give two relevant reasons: shorter hours may support health and recovery, while longer weekends can help workers spend time with family. The examples about screen-based work and a father spending time with his children make the response relevant, and the health paragraph explains a possible benefit for work performance. This meets the task well, with some development beyond simply listing reasons. To strengthen the response further, explain the practical link between a shorter working week and improved health in more detail, and develop the family-life point beyond its brief example. A more precise explanation of how the working week should change would also make the argument more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. The progression from health to family life is logical, and signposts such as “The main reason,” “Another important reason,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. However, some connections are mechanical, and sentence boundaries and spacing occasionally interrupt the flow. For example, “If People have more day off ,they can rest enough” runs into the next idea without consistent punctuation, while the conclusion repeats the two body-paragraph points rather than synthesising them. Use linking phrases more selectively and make references between sentences clearer. Breaking up the long example in the first body paragraph would also improve readability.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “work-life balance,” “exhausted,” “recover,” “motivation,” and “strengthen family relationships.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and there is some attempt to use more specific language, such as “coding” and “fixing errors.” However, spelling mistakes and imprecise or unnatural phrases are noticeable, including “wrokers,” “over load,” “sho free time,” and “busy schedule.” Some expressions, such as “useful activities they enjoy,” are vague, and “tech guy” is informal for an academic essay. Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, such as “take time off to recover” and “spend quality time with family.” This would make your vocabulary more precise and consistently appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if they have… they can use that time” and a relative clause describing screen-based work. The main argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make sentences awkward. Examples include “worker should be given,” “if longer weekend is provided,” and “the working week should made be shorter,” where articles, plurals, or verb forms are not controlled. There are also agreement problems in “which help strengthen family relationships” and a run-on construction in the conclusion. Practise checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb patterns, and use full stops to separate complete ideas. More accurate control of these structures would improve clarity.
