Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is often argued that the week for work ought to be minimal and weekend should be more than previous years. While longer weekends might be an appropriate situation for working professionals but this creates problems for companies to hire more staffs and sometime also for society to fulfill demands. Therefore,I partially disagree with the statement and explained briefly in upcoming paragraphs.

To begin with, one of thee primary point is that individuals demands a small week for job so that they utilize weekends in travelling. To explain it, in today’ world human beings become less familiar with their job and raises a voice to get more time to explore locations with their loving ones and exhale overall personality. This is the reasons so that they think about less working days. Moreover, some duties have a rigid lifestyle to follow and exhausted by doing that jobs. By increasing weekends definitely provide a great assistance to individuals so that they reveal in an effective way. For example, night duties are generally harder to follow and induce tiredness. Hence, these situation really requires a small amount of days for work.

On the contrary, some of the negative influence is that it prohibited companies 24/7policy as workers contain more weekends instead of working days.It also raises a obstacles in front of company to hire more staff so that it might be manageable for organisations and allow holidays according to days. Furthermore, if working days turned to be in minimal side it would lead to close market areas and reduce convenient sources for the global world. It also impacts on country welfare such as china if they stop searching on technology items it would effects ranking in world list. Hence, weekdays is beneficial for nations and local markets.

To conclude, although weekends could allow workers to get more rest and visit various locations, weekdays is beneficial in terms of growth and global market. Hence, I partially with this point.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is identifiable: you partially disagree, and the response considers both the benefits of longer weekends and possible effects on businesses and markets. This addresses the question, but the argument is unevenly developed. The first body paragraph explains that workers may want time to travel and recover from demanding shifts, with night work as an example. The opposing paragraph raises staffing and market concerns, but claims such as shorter weeks causing markets to close or harming China’s global ranking are not clearly explained or supported. The conclusion repeats the partial-disagreement position, though it does not clarify which side carries more weight. Develop each main reason with a clear cause-and-effect explanation and a relevant, specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “To begin with,” “On the contrary,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the broad progression, and the ideas are generally grouped by viewpoint. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent arrangement and shows some of the flexibility associated with stronger cohesion. However, connections within paragraphs are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, “This is the reasons so that…” does not clearly link the preceding point to its explanation, while “Hence, weekdays is beneficial” does not follow smoothly from the preceding claims. Use linking phrases that express the precise relationship between ideas, and make references such as “this situation” clearly identify what they refer to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “working professionals,” “rigid lifestyle,” “tiredness,” “organisations,” and “global market.” These choices show an effort to discuss work and economic effects beyond very basic language. However, inaccurate word choice and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Phrases such as “exhale overall personality,” “reveal in an effective way,” and “prohibited companies 24/7 policy” do not express the likely intended ideas clearly. There are also imprecise forms such as “more staffs” and “negative influence.” Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships for this topic, and choose simpler wording when you are unsure of a phrase’s meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer, complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “so that,” “although,” and “if.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main argument can generally be understood. However, control is inconsistent: errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction recur. For example, “individuals demands” should have a plural verb, “weekends could allow workers” is followed by “weekdays is beneficial,” and “I partially with this point” is missing a verb. Some long sentences, such as the one beginning “To explain it,” are difficult to interpret because the clauses do not fit together clearly. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and building complex sentences around one clear main clause.
