Student answer (Band 5.0)

The working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend. From my perspective, definatly workers should have a longer weekend because this is significant for workers. If everey company consider this facility for workers then workers will job perfectly. So, I am fully agree with the statement.

First of all, I explain why I agree this statement. We can see that, government and private company workers want to good facility with their job. But government and private company owners do not consider for workers.Due to fact that ,every company owners want more money but they do not see worker situation. If workers do not get facilities so they will not job perfectly. Workers need to longer weekend in every year but they do not want this. If workers get a longer weekend so they are work by fully attention. For example, my maternal uncle do job in one buying house but he do not get a good facility to his company. For that, he do not consider betterly for company.

Conversely, working week should be shorter. If this policy implemented for workers so this will greatfull for all workers. In my opinion, any employee do not want jon by long time, they want freshness.Because, every workers get some in their working time , so their tendency increased for their job. For example, I am a employee in one private company and I gat a lot of time for freshness and the company working week is short. Actually, if I get a lilke of facilities, I more affordable for my work.

To sum up, I am strongly agree with the statement beacause this is a good thing for all emolyee, so this policy need to implemented for workers.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that workers should have a longer weekend, and you give reasons related to rest, attention and working conditions. The examples about your uncle and your own job also make the response relevant to the question. However, the argument is only partly developed. For instance, you say workers would work with “fully attention” after a longer weekend, but do not explain how this could benefit productivity or employers. The point about company owners wanting more money is also broad and not supported with detail. To strengthen the response, explain each main reason more fully and make the link between shorter hours and improved work or wellbeing explicit. The 13 words copied from the task prompt were not counted in the stated total.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs broadly separate your reasons, and signposts such as “First of all,” “Conversely” and “To sum up” help readers follow the stages of your answer. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: several claims about facilities, company owners and workers’ performance are placed together without showing how they connect. “Conversely” also suggests a contrast, although the next paragraph continues to support your position rather than presenting an opposing view. Some linking phrases are repeated or used mechanically. Organise each body paragraph around one clear reason, then develop it with explanation and an example, using transitions that accurately show the relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “working week,” “facility,” “workers” and “company,” so the general subject is understandable. However, vocabulary is repetitive, and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the argument difficult to interpret, such as “job perfectly,” “consider betterly for company” and “more affordable for my work.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “definatly,” “everey” and “beacause.” These issues fit a limited range with errors that can cause some difficulty for the reader. Build a bank of natural phrases for work and wellbeing, and check spelling and word forms. For example, use “perform effectively,” “consider the company’s interests” and “more capable at work” where appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional forms such as “If workers get a longer weekend…” and a reason clause beginning “because.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. Examples include “I am fully agree,” “every company consider,” and “they are work,” which show problems with verb forms and subject–verb agreement. Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “I am a employee” and “freshness.Because.” These errors recur and sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow, although the overall position remains understandable. Practise accurate present-tense patterns, agreement, and article use, then proofread for complete sentences and punctuation. Aim for a few well-controlled complex sentences rather than adding clauses that you cannot yet manage reliably.
