Student answer (Band 5.0)

The working week should be shorter and workers should have numerous time to feel free. I do hope that workers should have a longer weekend to enjoy their selves.

To begin with, many individuals have interupted in various types of employments. Because they have to survive with numerous facilities and they shall not be able for it. Consequently, they have need to work as a good employers to achieve a good environment. For instance, if a man has no money, he cannot be able providing good environment to his child. the working week should be shoter for all individuals because it help them to achieve a big opportunity to feel free from their boring routine and spend some time with their babies.

Secondly, daily working make a dull man and play with their many kind of hobbies such as they have no time to feel relax and become happy. Moreover, if they have some time from their daily routine, they will be able to enjoy a good environment, good reputation, going outside and spending time with their families. For instance, they will feel free to enjoy coffee by going outside.

ConsequentlyI fully agree with this statement and I request to our government that providing some time to employers to their their lives from their office routines because if they would feel free from their daily life, they have ability to good work instead of their previuous routine that not providing them such facilities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a clear position in favour of a shorter working week, especially in “I fully agree with this statement,” and you give relevant reasons involving family time, hobbies and relief from routine. However, the explanation is often unclear or only briefly developed: the point about workers needing to “survive with numerous facilities” does not clearly explain why the week should be shorter, and the coffee example offers little support. The response also contains 233 words, so it is 17 words below the required minimum; the 10 words copied from the prompt were not counted. This limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. Develop each reason with a clear cause-and-effect explanation and a specific, relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure, with an opening, two body paragraphs and a concluding statement. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Secondly” and “Consequently” help signal the order of ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is not always clear: the first body paragraph moves from employment and money to children and then to a shorter week without explaining the links. Some connections are also awkward or repetitive, and the conclusion begins with “Consequently” even though it is summarising the argument. Use topic sentences that state one main reason, then explain and illustrate it in order. Clearer links between sentences and more precise referencing would make the organisation easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “working week,” “daily routine,” “hobbies” and “families,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural expressions make ideas difficult to understand. For example, “numerous time,” “interupted in various types of employments,” “good employers” and “enjoy their selves” do not express the intended meanings clearly. There are also spelling errors such as “shoter” and “previuous.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than adding more complex words: for instance, describe workers as having “more free time” and say that they can “spend time with their families.” Proofread spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer clauses, including a conditional example beginning “if a man has no money,” and you use connectors such as “because” and “if.” This shows some effort to vary sentence forms. However, the range is limited, and errors are frequent, particularly in longer sentences. Examples include “they have need to work,” “he cannot be able providing,” and “it help them,” where verb forms or agreement are faulty. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention: “the working week” begins a sentence with a lowercase letter, and “ConsequentlyI” lacks a space and punctuation. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea, checking subject–verb agreement, verb patterns and sentence endings.
