Student answer (Band 5.5)

AS TALKING ABOUT THE REAL FACT EMPLOYEES GET LESS WEEKEND TO REST AS IT SHOULD BE INCREASED. IN MY OPINION, ALTHOUGH MAXIMUM COMPANIES DOESN'T GIVE LONGER HOLIDAYS TO THEIR EMPLOYEES AS A RESULT DUE TO EXHAUSTION MANY OF THE WORKERS CAN'T GIVE THEIR BEST AT THE WORK. SO I THINK COMPANIES SHOULD PROVIDE ENOUGH TIME TO LET THE EMPLOYEES REST AND SPEND TIMES WITH THEIR LOVED ONES.

THE MAIN REASON BEHIND THIS IS THAT COMPANIES PRESSURING THEIR STAFF IS BECAUSE OF THE WORK TO GET DONE FASTER WHICH LEADS THE COMPANY TO GET MORE PROFIT AND FASTER OUTCOMES. THE EMOPLYEES MIGHT FINISH THE WORK FASTER BUT IT WON'T STAY THE SAME EVERYTIME AS THEY FEEL TIRED AND SICK TOO DUE TO ALOT OF PRESSURE WITHOUT ANY BREAKS. COMPANIES SHOULD ALSO THINK ABOUT THEIR STAFFS HEALTH AS EMPLOYEES NOT PERFORMING WELL AT THE WORK MIGHT MISLEAD TO HAVE INSIGNIFICANT LOSS IN FINANCIAL BUDGETS TOO. SO, PROVIDING A LONGER BREAK FOR THE EMPLOYEES FOR EXTRA ACTIVIES NOT ONLY BEING DETERMINANT TOWARD WORKS IS VERY BENIFICIAL FOR BOTH THE EMPLOYEES AND THE COMPANY.

IN THE OTHER HAND, PROVIDING LONGER BREAKS DOESN'T MEAN GIVING ALOT OF HOLIDAYS FOR FREE TIME WHEREAS, COMPANIES SHOULD FOCUS ON ONLY LETTING THE WORKERS GET ENOUGH WITH THEIR LOVED ONES AND TO REST WHILE SOMETIMES GIVING EXTRA DAY OFF FOR LEISURE ACTIVIES. IN ADDITION, THIS BENIFITS THE COMPANY BY HAVING MORE ENERGANICT STAFFS WHICH GIVES A SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER CHANCE IN GETTING SUCESSFUL AS WELL AS WITHOUT LOSING OF THE STAFFS WHO ARE EXCILLENT AT THEIR WORK.

IN CONCLUSION, I THINK THAT COMPANIES SHOULD THINK ABOUT BOTH SIDE OF BENIFITS RATHER THAN ONLY PRESSURING THE EMPLOYESS AT WORK AND PRIVIDE THEM MORE TIME.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you support a shorter working week because workers need time to rest and be with their families. You give relevant reasons, including exhaustion reducing performance and the possibility that better-rested staff may benefit companies. The discussion also recognises that longer weekends need not mean excessive time off. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the link between tired employees and “insignificant loss in financial budgets” is unclear, and the benefits of extra leisure activities are not illustrated with a specific example. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or a practical example, and make the conclusion state more precisely how a shorter week could benefit both workers and employers.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons and a qualification, and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress from worker exhaustion to the possible benefits for companies, and linking phrases such as “In addition” and “In conclusion” help signal movement. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “In the other hand” does not accurately introduce the contrast, while “whereas” joins ideas that do not form a clear contrast. Several sentences also contain multiple claims, making the progression harder to follow. Use clearer topic sentences and divide long sentences so each paragraph develops one main point in a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “exhaustion,” “performing well,” “financial budgets,” and “leisure activities,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “significant chance.” However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make meaning difficult to interpret. Examples include “determinant toward works,” “more energanict staffs,” and “without losing of the staffs.” There are also repeated spelling errors, including “benifits,” “sucessful,” and “excillent.” Build a reliable set of phrases for discussing productivity, wellbeing, and business outcomes, and check spelling carefully. Prefer natural combinations such as “improve staff productivity” and “reduce employee turnover.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “although,” “as a result,” and “which,” so there is some variety in structure. The main position is usually understandable, but some sentence patterns are faulty and make relationships between ideas unclear. For instance, “although maximum companies doesn't give” has problems with the subject and verb, and “The main reason … is because of the work to get done faster” is not formed clearly. In “employees not performing well … might mislead to have,” the verb pattern also obscures the intended meaning. Work on subject–verb agreement, complete clause structures, and punctuation around longer sentences. Aim for accurate, controlled complex sentences rather than joining several ideas together.
