Student answer (Band 5.5)
In many countries, people work five days a week, and some argue that this should be reduced to give employees a longer weekend. I strongly agree relating to this view the reason is because the quality of life and productivity.
Firstly, the shorter working days can actually companies more productive. Employees who work fewer hours are generally less exhausted. Employees want to work minimum days with full capacity they give it to company. In Recent trial a one company working days is five and another having four days, but the output stayed same then a major companies decided to give a longer weekend to their employees for their satisfaction and more active to working days.
Secondly, a longer weekend benefit both individuals and society. Workers gains some extra time for their family, friends and relatives. The main point is to have a rest and after that come with fresh mind. In addition, people with more leisure time tend to spend more at local restaurants, shops and tourist sites, which supports small businesses. A one big advantage is to support a small business because whenever the employees have many days so worker sit down local restaurants and cafes this is helpful for society.
Admittedly, some sectors not fully promote the shorter working days like hospitals and emergency services but there is also an idea for those sectors. they add more shifts to cover these flaws.
In Conclusion, I believe the longer weekend would improve efficiency of work and contribute to economy as well, and governments and employers should set to stage to introducing it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I strongly agree”) and conclusion, and you give relevant reasons: reduced fatigue may improve productivity, while extra leisure time can benefit families and local businesses. You also acknowledge that hospitals and emergency services may need a different arrangement, then suggest adding shifts. These points address the task, but they are not developed equally. The productivity example about a four-day and five-day trial is difficult to follow and lacks clear details about what was compared. The economic benefit is repeated rather than fully explained, and the solution for essential services needs more support. Explain the mechanisms and give a specific, clearly framed example to develop your ideas further.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two supporting paragraphs, a concession, and a conclusion. “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In Conclusion” help signal the main stages, and the ideas generally follow a sensible order. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The trial example moves abruptly from comparing work schedules to companies changing policy, so the relationship between the evidence and your claim is hard to follow. The second body paragraph also repeats the point about supporting small businesses, while “A one big advantage” does not clearly connect to the preceding sentence. Use clearer referencing and develop each paragraph around one distinct point, with transitions that show how each example supports it.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “productivity,” “exhausted,” “leisure time,” “local restaurants,” and “emergency services.” This gives you enough range to discuss both workplace and social effects. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, sometimes making the meaning less clear: “shorter working days” does not precisely express a shorter working week, “more active to working days” is unclear, and “worker sit down local restaurants” does not convey the intended spending idea. There is also repetition of “longer weekend” and “small business.” Aim for precise topic phrases and check how verbs combine with nouns; varying expressions such as “employees,” “staff,” and “workers” can also reduce repetition.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession beginning “Admittedly” and a relative clause in “which supports small businesses.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation reduce accuracy. For example, “I strongly agree relating to this view the reason is because” joins ideas without a clear grammatical structure; “Workers gains” has a subject–verb agreement error; and “some sectors not fully promote” is missing a finite verb. Capitalisation and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “they add more shifts” after a full stop. Practise building complete clauses and checking agreement and articles, while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
