Student answer (Band 5.5)

It often argued that working days need to shorter and employees should a longer weekend.

I completely disagree with the given statement and I will discuss the reasons to support my view in this essay.

On the one hand, taking a long weekend it doesn't make any sense because this break can made individual to unable to stay focus on the work and creates a lack of concentration from the work .As a result, this will impact on the career growth and there will be no further progress or success in life as well. For example,a student in undergraduate college attending classes for four days in a week and rest of the three days investing time on watching movies, using social media and entertainment may distract the mind from studies and make the brain feels dumb.

On the other hand, working days need to five days in a week that every employee should focus on the work and given task which may leads to achievement in the work place this results make them proud and feel them happy. The mind need to always occupied with the work and tasks.

For Instance,In wipro IT solutions there are many employees works for six days in a week and take a break for every one week it make them to stay focus and concentrate on life.It also make balance between personal life and professional life relatively equal. However, this is make them feel happy and distress from the work.

In conclusion,I strongly believe that taking a longer vaction will impact on the work which result to failures in career growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly disagree with a shorter working week, and the conclusion repeats this view. You also attempt to support it with examples, including the undergraduate student and employees at Wipro. However, the reasoning is only partly convincing and is not consistently focused on the question of working hours. The student example concerns study habits rather than workers’ productivity, while the Wipro example says employees work six days but does not explain why this supports a five-day working week. Claims such as a longer weekend causing career failure are asserted rather than demonstrated. Develop fewer points more fully, explain the link between each example and your position, and address possible benefits of longer weekends before rebutting them.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an identifiable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help show the intended structure. However, the progression between ideas is not always clear. The first body paragraph shifts from longer weekends to a student’s study routine, and the second moves from a claim about five working days to a six-day Wipro example without explaining the connection. Some linking phrases are also used mechanically or inaccurately, such as “As a result” before a consequence that is not clearly established. Organise each paragraph around one main reason, then connect the explanation and example explicitly. Clearer referencing and more precise transitions would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “career growth,” “concentration,” “achievement” and “personal life and professional life,” so the reader can identify the subject and your main concerns. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to interpret. For example, “make the brain feels dumb,” “distress from the work” and “a longer vaction” do not express the intended ideas naturally; “stay focus” is also an incorrect form. Repetition of “work,” “focus” and “happy” further limits precision. Build a bank of accurate phrases for productivity, rest and work-life balance, and check spelling and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a sentence beginning “For example” and one using “As a result.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction can make the reader pause. Examples include “It often argued,” “working days need to shorter,” “this break can made individual,” and “there are many employees works.” Several sentences also join ideas without reliable grammatical control, as in the long example about the student. Punctuation and spacing around commas and full stops are inconsistent. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add subordinate clauses; check that each subject has a correctly formed verb and that each sentence is complete.
