Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is widely believed that the working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend. I partially agree with this viewpoint, longer weekend helps people to take more rest, and feel fresh before going to the job again, but some job need more working hourse.
In the present time, after a long working day when workers return back to their home, they feel so exhausted. They also experience body pain, and mental stress, so they need more time to relax their body and mind. Longer weenkends help them to refresh again by allowing them to sleep, spend time with their families, and have coffee with friends. For example, after a long working weekend, people can relax at home, by watching TV, reading books, or garding. These activities help them to refresh and prepare their body and mind for the coming week.
One the other hand, many jobs require more working hours, like airports, hospitals, and newly open companies. Employees who spend extra hours on their duties are eligible for extra money. Also in some emergency cases, they help people in their emergency satutaions
for exapmle in hospitals doctors, nurses available all the time to handel any kind of situation.
Both viewpoint have mertis, long weekends are essential but people working with less working hours cause lower salaries, depend on the satutaion that you working for experience purpose or you need money for survival.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You take a partially agreeing position and give relevant reasons on both sides: longer weekends may help workers rest and spend time with family, while some roles require extended coverage and can bring extra pay. However, the position is not fully explained, and the final point about lower salaries and working for experience is difficult to connect clearly to your argument. Examples such as hospitals and airports are relevant, but they need more explanation to show why a shorter week would be unsuitable in these cases. The response also does not meet the 250-word minimum: it contains 223 words, with 13 words copied from the task prompt excluded from the count. Develop your reasoning and add a specific example or explanation for each main point.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting longer weekends, a paragraph presenting a counterpoint, and a concluding sentence. This helps the reader identify your main ideas. Some linking is effective, including “For example” and “On the other hand,” but progression within the final paragraph is less clear: the discussion moves from jobs requiring more hours to extra money, emergency services, and then lower salaries without showing how these points relate. The conclusion also introduces a new idea rather than clearly restating your position. Use one central point per paragraph, connect examples directly to that point, and finish by summarising your qualified agreement.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “exhausted,” “mental stress,” “eligible for extra money,” and “emergency cases.” These choices help communicate the general ideas. However, the range is limited and several word-choice or spelling problems make parts harder to understand, such as “working hourse,” “garding,” “satutaions,” and “handel.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “return back to their home” and “refresh again.” Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For instance, you could describe workers as “recover from fatigue” and say that essential services must “operate around the clock,” which would express your points more naturally and accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the sentence beginning “Longer weekends help them to refresh again by allowing them to sleep…” shows an effort to explain a cause and its effects. However, grammatical errors occur frequently and sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include the comma splice in “I partially agree with this viewpoint, longer weekend helps…,” the agreement error “some job need,” and the incomplete construction “depend on the satutaion that you working for experience purpose.” Articles, plurals, verb forms, and punctuation also need attention. Practise separating independent clauses with a full stop or conjunction, and check subject–verb agreement and sentence completeness when editing.
