Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that the working week should be shorter, and you give relevant reasons, including improved concentration and more time for family and personal development. The examples about your cousin and sister help connect the argument to experience. However, the ideas are only briefly explained, and the first example is unclear about whether the four-hour day is realistic or how it supports a longer weekend. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, so the argument has limited development. Explain the likely benefits and possible practical effects in more detail, and make sure each example directly supports the point it follows.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting benefits, and a conclusion. This gives the reader a basic route through your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the opening body sentence repeats the idea of shorter work and longer weekends rather than developing a reason. Connectors such as “On the other hand” suggest a contrast, but the next paragraph adds another benefit instead. Some sentences run together, and the conclusion repeats earlier points without bringing them together. Use clearer topic sentences, choose linking phrases that match the relationship between ideas, and separate each complete sentence with accurate punctuation.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a limited but relevant set of vocabulary for the topic, including “proper rest,” “concentrate,” “stress,” and “family and friends.” These choices make your main points understandable. However, vocabulary is repetitive, particularly around “shorter,” “more time,” and “help,” and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to interpret, such as “relife,” “boast the knowledge,” and “assit to more focus.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “working period” and “increase the level of her knowledge.” Build a wider range of accurate collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions would help you explain the effects of reduced working hours without repeating the same wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to express reasons and results using clauses such as “which helps them to…” and “so, she can spend more time…,” but the range of sentence structures is limited and many sentences contain errors. For example, “it is totally agree” lacks a correct subject and verb form, while “Many workers are work” uses an incorrect verb construction. Agreement and sentence boundaries are also problematic in “shorter working period provide…” and the run-on conclusion. These errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Practise forming clear subject–verb sentences, using present simple forms accurately, and joining clauses with correct punctuation. Aim to produce a few accurate complex sentences before adding more variety.
