Student answer (Band 5.5)

Business week should be shorter and employees should have a longer holidays. I partially disagree with this statement because longer weekends affects the bsiness in terms of corporate value and less development or productivity. The labourers whose income are on daily basis or per-day so longer weekends could be problematic situation for them.

I would argue that longer weekends influence the many business or organization which are developing or producing the products daily and on the grounds that too much off days reduce the productivity of the company and it made negative impact on the company in markeet. Business such as factories and company that take contract of the construction of houses if they worker take long weekends it would be affect heavily on company's heritage so that worker should take leave only one to two days in week.

Furthermore, the workers which are working on daily in companies that pay their employees daily such as a contract company in which laboiurers recieve their income daily, it is of paramount importance for that worker to work daily and no take longer weekends. Although, It is more important for worker who works daily to support their family. In contrast, working daily is not enough good for employee health and their mental health, so they should take at least one leavei in a week.

In conclusion, I partially disagree on the grounds that logner weekends affect comapnies market value in the markeet and also loss of the profit. However, i would argue that working on daily basis influence the person helth so one day off is important for them

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a recognisable, though qualified, position: you partially disagree because longer weekends may reduce business productivity and affect workers paid by the day, while acknowledging that time off benefits health. These points are relevant to the question. However, the response focuses mainly on the disadvantages of longer weekends and does not clearly explain what weekend arrangement you support or distinguish a shorter working week from simply taking leave. The examples of factories, construction firms and daily-paid workers are introduced but remain general; explain how reduced working days would affect output or income, and support the health point with a specific reason or example. This would make your position clearer and develop the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs broadly group business concerns, workers’ income and health, and you use signposts such as “Furthermore,” “Although” and “In conclusion.” However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the second paragraph moves from productivity to company reputation without explaining the connection, while the third shifts from the need to work daily to the health benefits of time off. Some linking phrases, including “on the grounds that” and “In contrast,” do not clearly express the relationship between the ideas. Build each paragraph around one main point, explain it in sequence, and use clearer references and transitions so the argument develops more smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “productivity,” “corporate value,” “contract” and “paramount importance,” and the reader can generally identify your main concerns. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “longer holidays” for longer weekends, “company’s heritage” for its reputation or performance, and “loss of the profit.” Spelling errors such as “bsiness,” “markeet,” “laboiurers” and “logner” also make the writing less controlled. Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully. Reusing accurate expressions such as “working days,” “business output” and “daily wages” would communicate your ideas more clearly than attempting unsuitable combinations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses beginning “because,” “if” and “Although,” but complex structures are often faulty and errors occur frequently. For example, “longer weekends affects” has subject–verb disagreement, and “it would be affect heavily” uses an incorrect verb form. In “the workers which are working,” the relative pronoun and clause structure are not appropriate; “workers who work” would be clearer. Articles, plurals and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “one leavei in a week” and the run-on conclusion beginning “profit.However.” Practise building shorter, accurate sentences first, then combine ideas using correctly formed clauses and check agreement, verb forms and punctuation.
