Student answer (Band 6.0)

In recent years, working on weekend are in trending because of workload management. Employers force their employees to works on a week days too and its leads to several issues. I believe that the working week should be shorter and the workers should have a enough time on weekends to take part in family take care and in other social activities. This is also helpful for their mental health and for overall behaviour.

In my perspective, it is evident that the longer weakend has more benefits rather than working on weak days too and i strongly agree with this statement. One of the leading benefit of longer weekends is that the people can get enough time to spend with their families. In normal days usually people work from morning to evening and also they spent some time on travelling too, such as going to job and coming back to home. Subsequentily, if they get longer off on weekends they will spent it with their families and this will help them to build strong realtions with parents, childrens and spouse. They will share their activities and issues with each other. If they have enough time as we discussed about longer weekend, they will connect with each other and aware of their lives. This will help to build strong relations of the family.

In addition, spending more time on work rather than other activities cause several problems. The major issues they will face is mental helath problems. If they take longer rest on weekneds they will feel fresh and work more accurately. This will boost overall productivity thats why more off days are important than short period breaks. This will result in workers mental ability too because they feel a lot of pressure during works, so if they get enough break on weekends their mind will reset. If they stay with this pressure this will cause many other health issues over the time. This is better for employees mental health to give proper break on each weekend.

Overall, i strongly agree on the point of giving longer weekend to spend with their own consent rather than apposing workload on them. The longer weekend will help them to build strong connection and understanding with families and also give them opportunity to relax themselves mentaly. These are the key benefits of longer weekend

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear throughout: you strongly support a shorter working week and longer weekends. You address the task with relevant reasons, especially family relationships and workers’ mental health, and you explain how additional time could help people rest and reconnect. These points meet the task well. However, the discussion focuses mainly on the benefits of longer weekends; it does not explore the proposal’s practical implications or develop the productivity point beyond saying workers may work more accurately. Some claims, such as longer weekends building stronger family relationships, would benefit from a specific example or fuller explanation. To strengthen the response, develop each main reason more precisely and support it with a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present reasons, and a conclusion restates your position. The progression from family life to mental health is logical, and signposts such as “In addition” help readers follow the argument. This gives the essay a coherent foundation. However, cohesion is sometimes repetitive or mechanical: “strong relations” and “longer weekend” recur several times, while the family paragraph repeats the idea of spending time together without adding much new development. Some references are also unclear, as in “This will result in workers mental ability too.” Use more precise links between cause and effect, vary repeated wording, and ensure each sentence advances the paragraph’s central point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “workload,” “productivity,” “mental health,” and “social activities,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “overall productivity.” However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “working on weekend are in trending,” “week days,” “take part in family take care,” and “apposing workload.” Several words are repeated, particularly “longer weekend,” “strong relations,” and “enough time,” which limits flexibility. Build a bank of natural collocations for work and wellbeing, check spelling carefully, and choose precise phrases rather than translating expressions directly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional and cause-and-effect structures such as “If they take longer rest on weekneds they will feel fresh” and “If they stay with this pressure this will cause many other health issues.” This shows some range, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction remain frequent enough to affect fluency. For example, “Employers force their employees to works” has an incorrect verb form, while “One of the leading benefit” needs plural agreement. “The major issues they will face is” also has a subject–verb mismatch. Practise checking each sentence’s subject and verb, article use, and clause boundaries, while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
