Student answer (Band 5.5)

For a longer weekend, the working week should be shorter for worker. This argument has a valid point to reduced pressure and boringness of thier worklife.Though i believe its a valid argument for worker but i am not fully agree with that statement.

Longer weekend can reduced the stressfull and boring worklife.People can stay away from thier every day boring task and stay somewhere they can feel more relaxed and stressfree. For example, Because of shorter working week an employee could plan a tour with collegue and freinds where he can spent enjoyable time with them and after that they can be more attentive in work when they return.

short working week can also help employee to balance their working life and family life. Because of long working day employee didnot gave proper time to his family and children but if he can get a long weeked he can spend time with them and could go a family tour and spent most memorable time in thier life.

But, sometimes longer weeked can harmfull for work because if the company have lots of work to do in a proper time but the employee are going for weekened..The work would be late lack of employee attendence which can decreased company reputation in working world. For example, if the worker in a weekened but company need to finish work in a limited time it would not be possible and also company dont receive any work from the client if the employee are on weekend.

So, shorter working week free worker from daily boring task and longer weekend they can spent time with family and freinds which is most enjoyable. But in some company which is dependent on clients oreder and they need to finish oeder in a time they must got trouble if the employee spent longer weekend.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the question and give a clear, qualified position: you see benefits in a shorter week but are not fully in agreement because some companies need work completed promptly. The points about reducing stress and making more time for family are relevant, and the examples of taking a trip and meeting client deadlines help illustrate them. However, the benefits are explained more fully than your disagreement, which relies mainly on the general possibility of delays. Develop this counterargument with a specific consequence or explain how shorter hours could be organised to avoid it. A more precise statement of what you ultimately support would also make your position stronger.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on benefits and drawbacks, and a concluding summary. This makes the main line of reasoning easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “For example,” “But,” and “So” to signal relationships between ideas. At times, however, these links feel mechanical, and some sentences repeat the same point about weekends allowing time with family and friends. The final paragraph largely restates earlier ideas rather than drawing them together into a clear conclusion. Improve progression by giving each paragraph one distinct purpose and using clearer references—for example, specify what “the work” refers to when discussing delays.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “stress,” “family life,” “company reputation,” and “clients.” There are also attempts at more descriptive expressions, such as “more attentive” and “memorable time.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “boringness,” “stressfull,” “weeked,” and “oreder” are examples. Some combinations are also unnatural, including “stay somewhere they can feel more relaxed” and “receive any work from the client.” Build accuracy by learning common collocations for work and wellbeing, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise terms such as “workload” and “meet deadlines” would help express your ideas naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if the company have lots of work” and a contrast introduced by “but.” This shows an effort to connect ideas rather than relying only on short statements. Some grammatical errors remain, however, particularly with subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and articles. For example, “Longer weekend can reduced” needs a modal construction such as “A longer weekend can reduce,” while “the employee didnot gave” should use a correctly formed past-tense verb. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention, especially in the long sentence beginning “But, sometimes.” Practise checking each clause for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
