Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is frequently argued that the traditional 5 days working is too much burden on employees and the worker should have longer weekend instead of two days short weekend.
5 days working days is mostly applied over half or one third majority of world, in and two days weekend which is too much shorts as of employees point of views. The organization argued that he 5 working days and two days weekends is mcuh good enough for the employees to relex and enjoy two days but the employees have issues with that , they told that it dosnt make ourself enjoiable. as early 90s employees have 6 days of working and 1 day of weekend, which was too much difficult to do so.
In my opinion shorter weekend have alot of impacts on our health, alot of people suffer hearth diseases, anxiety and much more health issue because of working, they must need some longer relaxation for better health and body. i will share my real life example of one my relative which suffer health issue because of work. He have major cardiac arrest which cause him severe heart issue, Now he's on ventilator because he working 5 days a week and also on weekend he got alot of calls and messages of work. And he couldn't give time to their children and wife which cause him heart related issues.
So in my opinion there should be shorter working days and longer weekends. Because if you give time to your family and take care of your body you will feel good.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear in the final paragraph: you support shorter working weeks and longer weekends, and you give relevant reasons about health and family time. The example of your relative’s cardiac arrest also makes the health concern concrete. However, the response only partly develops the task: it does not explain clearly how the working week should be shortened, and the discussion of the current five-day arrangement and the historical six-day week is difficult to follow and not fully connected to your argument. The claim that work caused the relative’s condition is presented without qualification or further explanation. Develop two or three reasons more fully and show how each supports your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to background, a personal example, and a conclusion. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, progression between ideas is uneven: the second paragraph shifts from how common the five-day week is to employers’ views and then to the 1990s, without clearly showing how these points connect. Linking phrases such as “In my opinion” and “So in my opinion” are repeated, while some references, including “they” and “which,” are unclear. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s main point, and connect supporting details explicitly. A clearer sequence—position, reason, explanation, example—would make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “employees,” “weekend,” “health,” “anxiety,” and “cardiac arrest,” and the personal example helps communicate your meaning. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the message harder to understand. For example, “too much burden,” “two days short weekend,” and “shorter weekend have alot of impacts” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “relex,” “dosnt,” and “enjoiable” also reduce clarity. Build a bank of accurate phrases for work-life balance and health, and check spelling and word forms carefully. Aim for precise expressions rather than repeating “alot” and “work.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a relative clause in “a relative which suffer health issue because of work.” However, the longer structures are often difficult to control, and frequent errors in agreement, tense, articles, and sentence boundaries can make the reader work to understand your meaning. Examples include “5 days working days is,” “he have major cardiac arrest,” and “he couldn't give time to their children and wife.” Several sentences also run together or begin with a conjunction as fragments, such as “Because if you give time to your family…” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and past-tense forms, and separate complete sentences with appropriate punctuation. Shorter, controlled sentences will help you express the ideas more clearly.
