Student answer (Band 6.0)
The productive week must be lesser than the weekend which should be longer for the employed individuals. In my opinion, I disagree with the statement because then there would be lesser time for maximum productivity, workers would be demotivated and focused on looking forward to the long weekend although workers should be assigned some time off work on public holidays like christmas and easter.
If the productive week is lesser than the weekend, it means production will be significantly reduced therefore targets set for companies may end up being not met due to limited time. This may result in some businesses collapsing therefore affecting the economy. For example if the goal was to get a hogher number of customers by the end of the year, the targets may be harder to meet if the days of work are fewer.
Furthermore, if the number of working days are reduced workers may end up being demotivated because they will only be looking forward to the long weekend. This may also result in bad customer care and in some instance for example in schools, it may result in low pass grades for exam classes which also leads to the collapse of the economy in general.
However, it is important to sometimes give workers some time off so that when they get back to work they will be energetic enough to meet the targets assigned to them. Some off days on public holidays like Christmas and Easter are essential because it allows the workers to be with their families and recharge for when they get back to work.
In conclusion, weekends should not be longer than work days due to the possibility of not meeting tasks and thereby leading to the collapsing of the economy in general however, it is important to give workers some time off on public holidays so that they get family time and recharge.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you disagree with a shorter working week, and you also acknowledge that workers need occasional time off. You give relevant reasons, including reduced production, missed company targets and possible effects on schools, and the public-holiday example helps address the qualification in the prompt. However, some claims are asserted rather than explained. For instance, the link between fewer working days and workers becoming demotivated is not fully established, and the school example does not clearly show how a longer weekend would lower exam results. Develop these points with a specific explanation or example, and distinguish more carefully between a shorter working week and occasional holidays. This would make the argument more fully supported and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, separate paragraphs present reasons and a qualification, and the conclusion restates your position. Connectors such as “Furthermore” and “However” help signal the direction of the argument, and the ideas generally progress from productivity to worker motivation and then time off. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the flexibility associated with stronger cohesion. At times, though, links are mechanical or unclear: the repeated claim that outcomes could lead to “the collapse of the economy” does not show the steps in that reasoning. Use clearer references and transitions, and make each paragraph’s central point distinct rather than repeating the same consequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to work and productivity, including “targets,” “demotivated,” “customer care,” and “recharge,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “significantly reduced.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “productive week” is used where “working week” is intended, “lesser time” is awkward, and “hogher” is misspelled. “Collapse of the economy” is also repeated and overstates the likely consequences. Aim for accurate, natural combinations and vary repeated terms; for example, describe businesses as missing targets or facing financial pressure rather than predicting economic collapse.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including conditional reasoning (“If the productive week is lesser…”) and a concession introduced by “However.” The overall meaning is usually clear, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “the number of working days are reduced” has subject–verb disagreement; “in some instance” needs a plural form; and “it allows the workers” does not agree with the plural idea of “Some off days.” Punctuation also needs attention: “economy. For example” requires a space, and the long opening sentence would be clearer if divided. Review agreement, plural forms and sentence boundaries, while continuing to use complex structures with more consistent control.
