Student answer (Band 5.0)

The working days in a week could be shorter for workers and workers should have more free days at the end of the weekend, so they can spend quailty time with their families. As far as I concerned with my perspective I totally agree with it.

The corporate workers give their most of the time to their companies and their hard work is the real reason behind the company's success. Sometime workers stay late night for the their company and work extra without asking questions. The stress and burden of work is a real hustle for them and they should have a right to spend longer weekend, so they can feel stress free for somedays. For example, humans are not machines to work everyday in a whole week, even machines need to be free at some stages.

The other main reason for this problem is that a low salery package. The face too much dificulties and survival is hard for them in today's expensive era because prices of basic needs are touching sky such as flour, sugar, cooking oil.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

Your position is clear: you state that you “totally agree,” and the points about family time and work-related stress are relevant to the question. However, the response addresses the task only partially. The second body paragraph shifts to low salaries and rising prices without explaining how these problems support a shorter working week or longer weekend. The example comparing people with machines is relevant but remains general, and the reasons are not developed with specific explanation or evidence. The response is also 71 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain your ideas. To strengthen the response, keep each paragraph focused on the effect of a shorter week and develop each reason with a clear example and explanation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation: you introduce your opinion, give a paragraph about workers’ effort and stress, and then add another reason. The reader can generally follow the main points, and phrases such as “For example” signal an illustration. However, the overall progression is not clear because the final paragraph introduces low pay and the cost of necessities without connecting them to the proposed change in working hours. Connections between sentences are also sometimes awkward, and the opening repeats “workers” and “weekend” rather than establishing a concise direction. Use a clear topic sentence for each paragraph, explain how each point supports your position, and use linking phrases only where they show a genuine relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “stress,” “burden of work,” “corporate workers,” and “basic needs.” These choices help communicate your concerns about working conditions and living costs. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or informal, such as “a real hustle,” “prices … are touching sky,” and “free for somedays.” Spelling errors, including “quailty,” “salery,” and “dificulties,” are noticeable and reduce the accuracy of the writing. Aim for more precise, natural expressions and check spelling carefully. For example, you could describe “work-related pressure” and say that prices “have risen sharply,” rather than relying on conversational or non-standard phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the main message is usually understandable. For instance, the sentence beginning “The stress and burden of work” links a problem with a proposed benefit. However, the range of structures is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to follow. Examples include “As far as I concerned with my perspective,” “The corporate workers give their most of the time,” and “The face too much dificulties,” where sentence structure, missing words, or agreement interfere with clarity. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction, as in “for the their company.” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check each sentence for a complete subject and verb.
