Student answer (Band 5.5)
The working days should be shorter and people should have a longer weekend. This essay strongly support that working week should be shorter because working for long time can be harmful for our brain health. Secondly, it causes stress and depression.
I strongly support that working days should be shorter as compare to weekend and weekend should be longer. I think working for enough time is sufficient if we work more than the require time then it will be not good for our health especially for brain. Our brain will not work properly and we will not perform well for the remaining time. If we give them longer weekend they will spend more time with family and thier mind will be healthy. For example, If a person works four day a week and his boss tells him that you will work six day a week, extra from onwrad this will cause more panic to him because his routines will be disturbed and he will not manage it properly.
Secondly, if a person works too much a week and cannot manage the timetable propely then the work will cause anxiety and stress to him and for the rest of the time he will not manage the work properly. So giving them longer weekend will be benificial, if we want to more utilize them. For example, If we gave them longer weekends, they will be happy and work efficiently. There will bo no stress for them to be distracted and thier brain will be healthy so they will work properly.
In conclusion, i strongly agree that weekend should be longer than working week. Because if we gave them longer weekend, they will work efficiently and thier mind will be more healthy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the opening and conclusion: you support a shorter working week and a longer weekend. You give relevant reasons, including protecting mental health, reducing stress, and allowing more time with family, and you include examples to illustrate your points. This addresses the task, but the ideas are not developed equally. The first example about a worker being asked to move from four to six days is difficult to follow and does not clearly show the benefits of a shorter week. The second example mainly repeats that workers would be happier and more efficient. To strengthen the response, explain how a longer weekend could improve wellbeing or productivity, and make each example specific and clearly connected to your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. The main ideas are generally grouped by topic, so the reader can follow your overall argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive: stress, anxiety, a healthy brain, and working efficiently recur without adding much new explanation. Some links between ideas are unclear, particularly the example about changing from a four-day to a six-day week. The conclusion also repeats the position and reasons rather than drawing them together. Use linking phrases to show cause and result more precisely, and organise each body paragraph around one reason followed by explanation and a directly relevant example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main points, including “stress,” “depression,” “anxiety,” “family,” and “efficiently.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “work properly,” “healthy,” and “longer weekend.” Some choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “more utilize them,” “extra from onwrad,” and “as compare to weekend,” which make parts of the argument harder to understand. Spelling errors such as “thier,” “propely,” and “benificial” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range for discussing work and wellbeing, and check spelling and natural word combinations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “If we give them longer weekend they will spend more time with family.” This shows an effort to express cause and effect, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make sentences difficult to follow. For example, “This essay strongly support” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “if we want to more utilize them” has an awkward infinitive construction. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “longer weekend” and the fragment-like opening of the conclusion, “Because if we gave them longer weekend…”. Practise accurate agreement, articles, and conditional forms, and punctuate longer sentences so each clause is clearly connected.
