Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is widely believed that, time duration for working days should be shorter and weekend should be longer.I completely agree with the former view, as it is more advantageous in terms of providing work life balance to workers and good quality of work to organizations .
Firstly, fewer working days in a week provide anough time to employees to give proper time to their families , and focus to improve their lives. When workers have long weekends ,they can spend more time with families, and can create more memories with them. For instance ,they can plan some outdoor activity with their children to give them a chance to meet different people to improve their social skills , or paly with them to give some recreational experience for physical well-being.
Secondly, shorter working days help the workers to concentrate more efficiently on the quality of the work. When the minds of workers will be fresh, their interest in work will be devolped. As a reult, the quality of the work will improve , and companies will be able to attract more customers and generate more profit.Furthermore, short working days gives workers an enough time to work on their weak' skills, and polish them for improvement in work quality.
To sum up, I am strongly agree with the view that shorter working days are beneficial for workers ,as they give employees a sufficient time to get rest from hectic working routine ,and improve their social lives. The companies also get benfited by the improvement in the work quality and good image of the company in the market.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction—“I completely agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address both workers’ well-being and benefits to organisations, supporting these points with relevant examples such as spending time with children and improving work quality. This gives the response a clear, relevant argument. To develop it further, explain the links between shorter working weeks and the claimed outcomes more precisely. For example, the claim that companies will attract more customers and generate more profit is asserted rather than demonstrated, and the point about workers improving their “weak’ skills” could use a specific illustration. More detailed support would make the reasoning less general and the argument more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a concluding summary. “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Furthermore,” and “To sum up” make the progression easy to follow, and each body paragraph has a recognisable central idea. Some links between claims are less fully explained, however. In the second body paragraph, the movement from workers feeling fresh to companies attracting customers and making more profit is quite abrupt. The conclusion also repeats the main benefits rather than drawing the reasoning together. Aim to connect each supporting example explicitly to its paragraph’s main point, and use a wider range of natural transitions and referencing so the organisation feels less formulaic.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “work life balance,” “recreational,” “physical well-being,” “concentrate,” and “generate more profit.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, but the range and control are uneven. Several spelling errors—such as “anough,” “pal y” (written as “paly”), “devolped,” “reult,” and “benfited”—are noticeable, while some phrases are unnatural or imprecise, including “give proper time to their families,” “an enough time,” and “good image of the company.” These issues do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and fluency. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, especially for discussing work, productivity, and family life.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including conditional and time clauses such as “When workers have long weekends, they can spend more time…” and “When the minds of workers will be fresh…”. However, errors recur in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “short working days gives” should use a plural verb, “I am strongly agree” has an incorrect verb pattern, and “workers an enough time” has an article error. The future form in “When the minds of workers will be fresh” is also not appropriate for this time clause. Punctuation spacing is inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and full stops. Practise accurate clause patterns and proofread for agreement and sentence boundaries.
