Student answer (Band 6.0)
In many countries, workers spend most of the time at work and they have less time for relax and other activities which effect their physical and mental health. I completely agree with this viewpoint that weekend should longer.
One of the primary reason I agree is that having longer weekend impose positive impact on workers physical and mental health. Workers without any proper rest lead to fatigue stress and various health problems. Workers having long weekend help to spend more time with their families, friends and also workers can participate in other physical activities which help to reduce stress and fatigue. Moreover, workers feel very relax and energetic. For example, after long shifts health care professionals feel fatigue and stress which can negatively effect on their health.
Another significant point is that having long weekend charge their energy and after spending long weekend workers feel very energetic and perform their work with very interest and workers perform more work in a single day. In contrast, workers who spend whole week in working feel very tired and stress which can damage their physical and mental health and also they do not perform their work efficiently and make many mistake during their work. workers also feel very tired during working hours and they also perform less work during the day because they feel very tired and stress.
To sum up, I firmly believe that working week should be shorter and weekend should be longer which help workers to participate in different activities and this would improve health and reduce stress.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I completely agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons: longer weekends may support health and family life, and rested workers may perform better. The healthcare-professional example also helps connect the argument to a real work context. This meets the task well, but the support is uneven: the first reason is explained more fully, while the productivity point is repeated rather than developed with a specific explanation or example. The response also focuses mainly on longer weekends, with less direct discussion of shortening the working week. To strengthen the argument further, explain how fewer working days could produce these benefits and develop each reason with a distinct, concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a concluding statement. The progression from health benefits to workplace performance is logical, and signposts such as “One of the primary reason,” “Moreover,” and “To sum up” help show the direction of the argument. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and ideas within the second body paragraph are repetitive: the point that tired workers perform less efficiently appears several times. Some references are also unclear, particularly “having long weekend charge their energy,” where the relationship between the idea and its result is difficult to follow. Group related points more tightly, avoid repeating the same claim, and use clearer links between cause and effect.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “physical and mental health,” “fatigue,” “stress,” “energetic,” and “efficiently,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts to express more specific concepts, such as workers participating in physical activities and healthcare professionals experiencing demanding shifts. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive: “weekend should longer,” “charge their energy,” and “perform their work with very interest” do not sound natural. “Relax” and “fatigue” are also used in forms or contexts that weaken precision. Build a bank of natural phrases for rest, recovery, and productivity, and check word forms and spelling carefully; this would make your meaning more precise and fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including cause-and-effect structures with “which” and “because.” This gives the response some variety, and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, errors in sentence structure and grammatical forms occur across the response. For example, “weekend should longer” is missing a verb, “One of the primary reason” has a number-agreement error, and “having longer weekend impose” has problems with article use and subject–verb agreement. Several long sentences join multiple ideas without clear punctuation, making them difficult to process. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, then review longer sentences to ensure each clause is complete and clearly connected.
