Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that the working should be lesser and employee should have a longer weekend. I completely agree with this view because workers can spend quality of time and opportunity to develop new skills.
This primary reason why i agree with this view is that spend quality of time. This is because they have more time to spend with their family, friends and relatives, which can help to make bonds more stronger between them. For example, workers who spent a more time with their close ones has no any misunderstanding or any communication gaps. Another important point is that they can develop or learn new skills. In other words, If they have more time they can work in developing skills which helps them to enhance their skills and supports to connect with good professionals. As a result, they can earn more money or even get higher position in company.
Furthermore, Stress-free provides another reason to support my position. This is mainly because workers who worked much time in office will get burden of work and also cannot focus properly in work which can takes long time to complete work. For instance, employee spent a lot of time in work cannot fit by mentally or physically. In addition, fulfill their hobbies is also worth considering, as employee can go to fulfill their hobbies which makes them feel good physically, mentally and spritually which can make a big difference in employee life. Therefore these are very essential for employee life to stay stress-free and makes lives a life in a easier way.
In conclusion, I largely agree that the working week should be shorter and jobholder should have a longer weekend because they can spend a good quality of life, opportunity to learn new skills, live a life without stress and fulfill their hobbies in their free time overall these reasons makes me that jobholder should have a longer weekend.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the opening: “I completely agree,” and the conclusion restates your support for a shorter working week. You give several relevant reasons—more time with family, opportunities to develop skills, reduced stress, and time for hobbies—and include an example about family communication. However, these points are not developed equally. The skills paragraph mentions possible career and income benefits, but does not explain how a shorter week would reliably create these outcomes. The stress example is also difficult to follow and would be stronger with a specific situation or clearer explanation. To strengthen the response, explain each main reason in more depth and connect it directly to the proposed shorter working week.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Ideas are generally grouped by topic, and linking expressions such as “For example,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, some connections feel mechanical, and the progression within the second body paragraph is not always clear: stress, difficulty concentrating and hobbies are introduced without a smooth explanation of how they relate. References such as “these reasons” in the conclusion are broad rather than precise. Use clearer topic sentences and build each paragraph around one main point, with explanation and an example before moving to the next idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “develop new skills,” “communication gaps,” “higher position,” and “stress-free.” There is some attempt to express ideas in different ways, but inaccurate word choice and collocation often make the writing sound unnatural. Examples include “spend quality of time,” “the working should be lesser,” and “fulfill their hobbies”; these choices sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Spelling errors such as “sprituually” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of natural phrases for work-life balance and career development, and check whether verbs and nouns commonly occur together. More precise, consistently natural wording would make your relevant ideas easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “which” and explanations introduced by “because” and “as a result.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction occur in several places. For example, “workers who spent a more time … has” combines an incorrect article and a subject–verb mismatch, while “which can takes long time” has an incorrect verb form. The sentence beginning “In addition, fulfill their hobbies” is also incomplete. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and finite verb, then review agreement and tense consistency, especially in examples about workers generally.
