Student answer (Band 5.5)

The employment time in office should be less and day off time should me more for employees. I agreed with this because you need to give time to your family and do some personal work. Shorter time in office is important for relaxation in home.

The person should get a longer weekend to get busy with the family member. They should do some outing activities with their childerns, like move to some restaurant for eating, after that, they shoud enjoy in the park and make some fun activities there. For instance, in our family whenever our father got a free time from their office we try to made a picnic to Islamabad, where we enjoy dilicious foods and play online games in a Jinnah park.

If the office work will finish early, then employees get to much free time through which they can easily do their personal homework and also relax themselves. They will clean their home and make it hygienic. Futhermore, they can also clean their cloths. If they all their work at home then they can relax themselves and take a rest. For example, in our home parents often busy at their office and leave their home dirty and clean it only at their weekend time through which the burden on our parents increased.

In conclusion, if the individuals get a long day off from their office and leave them early, then they can handle homework and spend some time with their family member after that they can also take a sleep.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that workers should have more time away from work, and you give relevant reasons involving family time, relaxation and household responsibilities. The family outing to Jinnah Park and the example of your parents’ chores help make the response personal and relevant. However, the reasons are not developed equally. The family paragraph gives several activities, while the points about relaxation and household work are mostly listed rather than explained in depth. The response also focuses on the benefits of free time without discussing why the working week itself should be shorter or considering any limits to this change. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation of how a longer weekend would benefit workers.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present reasons and examples, and a conclusion restates the main idea. Paragraphing therefore helps the reader follow the broad progression. You also use basic linking expressions such as “For instance,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion.” At times, however, connections between ideas are mechanical or unclear. In the household paragraph, “If they all their work at home” does not clearly express the intended relationship, and the sequence of cleaning, resting and sleeping could be organised more logically. Some references, such as “they” and “their,” are also difficult to follow. Use clearer transitions and make the subject of each sentence explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas about work, family and free time, and examples such as “personal homework” and “hygienic” show attempts to express specific points. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. For example, “employment time in office” and “day off time” are not natural ways to describe working hours and time off; “make some fun activities” is also awkward. Spelling errors such as “childerns,” “shoud,” “dilicious” and “Futhermore” further reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of phrases for work schedules, leisure and household duties, and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures with clauses, including “If the office work will finish early, then employees get to much free time” and the sentence beginning “For example, in our home…”. This shows some variety, but control is uneven, and errors in verb forms, agreement and sentence construction sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “I agreed with this” does not use the appropriate tense for your current opinion, while “our father got a free time” and “we try to made a picnic” contain faulty forms. The final sentence also joins several ideas without clear grammatical structure. Practise accurate conditional patterns and past-tense narration, and divide long sentences when needed.
