IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The diagram below shows how a biofuel called ethanol is produced.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The diagram depicts the process of the production of biofuel which is also known as ethanol. At a glance, the entire process is divided into 8 steps. This process works as a cycle. Because the carbon which came from the exhaustion of fuel will be used in the production of another plantation.
Firstly, the process starts with the plantation of trees. And once the plants grow, the process of harvesting will get started. After harvesting, the plants goes to the factories for to prepare the plants to make cellulose from it. At the forth step, the cellulose from plants has made. Then, cellulose goes for actual processing in labs where sugars will going to be extracted from the cellulose. On a second last step, some microbes will be added into that extracted sugars and then the final product named ethanol or biofuel will be produced. After production, ethanol will be used in vehicles like Cars, Trucks and Air planes. As a result of exhaustion, the carbon dioxide will going to get mixed in environment. Which will be used by the plants as a source of energy.
Overall, the process of plantation, harvesting and making cellulose from plants are steps which requires for more man power in comparison of rest of the steps.
