The diagram below shows how a biofuel called ethanol is produced.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The diagram illustrates the production of the Ethanol which is the one of the biofuels.

Overall, for the production of Ethanol it takes 7 different steps which starts with the energy and ends with microbes. But, this whole process takes place in the cycle form as we know Carbon Dioxide is used as a energy which is ultimately released by the vehicles.

First of all, Sunlight along with Carbon Dioxide is used as a energy source which is taken by the plants.Then trees are harvested with help of tractor these harvested plants are pre-processed in the machine to produce Cellulose. The Cellulose which is formed is processed in tha laboratories to form Sugars. Furthermore, these sugars are combined with the microbes to form final substance called as the Ethanol.

Ethanol, which is formed is used in transportation like in cars, buses, truckes and in the airways also. As we know Ethanol is used in running of the vehicles but, here these vehicles inturn releases Carbon Dioxide into the air. This Carbon Dioxide is mixed with the nature which is used as a Energy source by the plants.
