The diagram below shows how a biofuel called ethanol is produced.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The provided diagram shows the process of production of a biofuel called as ethanol.

Overall, this process comprises of a number of steps which initiates by growing plants and trees which takes energy in the form of carbondioxide and sunlight followed by harvesting which then undergoing numerous steps is converted into ethanol after processing and adding microbes.The ethanol is use as a fuel in various vehicles which produces carbondioxide which is again used by the plants.

The process starts by growing plants and trees whose source of energy is carbondioxide and sunlight which is taken from environment. This is later harvested and sent for pre-processing , where the cellulose is extracted and sent for processing where sugars are extracted.

Further, microbes are added and ethanol is produced after a number of steps . The ethanol produced is used in various vehicles as fuel like in car, truck and airplane whih produces a gas called as carbondioxide which are required plants for their life process.This cycles continues and keep going for the production of ethanol.It can be observed that before this process after pre-processing gives cellilose which are the processed in labs and sugar is extracted and microbes are added required transportation which also gives out carbondioxide like the others .Thus in this process every factor contributes to the production of ethanol.+
