The diagram below shows how a biofuel called ethanol is produced.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given image illustrates the production of biofuel.

Overall, the data below has eight different stages which starts from the plantation of trees and ends with a biofuel being used for different form of transportation.

However, the first process starts from planting trees which takes energy from sunlight and carbondioxide.After taking energy the trees are matured enough to get harvested. Now in the next process,the matured trees are harvested and transported in a tractor. The harvested trees are now pre-processed. The cellulose are formed from pre-processing .Then, the cellulose are taken away for processing. The sugar are seperated from processing.

In contrast, the sugar contain microbes from where ethanol is produced and at last the produced fuel is used in different vehicles like car, airplane and truck. These vehicle produce carbondioxide which is obtained by the trees. The tree now again take carbondioxide and sunlight as a form of energy to reproduce the biofuel.
