Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

the given process graph illustrates that how a biofuel called ethanol is produced. There are several steps for using produce biofule.

overall, Using several natural energies and create biofule and finaly it's tranport into different industries.

In the beginning of tge process. Plants and trees grow rapidly using natural resources such as sunlight, carbon dioxide and etc etc. Then harvesting these plants and trees using special machinaries. After that these thing transport into factories and go throughout from machine to pre processing these things. In fourth image we can see the output of pre processing step. cellulose create using that step. Then That cellulose processing and create sugars.

Then sugers with added microbes. They can create ethanol. In finally we can seen every vehicals are use to ethnol for moving here and there such as cars, planes and trucks. After also finally that vehicals are produced carbon dioxide and that carbon dioxide mix with atmosphere and repeat that process

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response partially addresses the task by attempting to outline the main stages of how ethanol is produced. While the overview and some key steps like plant growth, harvesting, and pre-processing are mentioned, the explanation lacks sufficient development and clarity. Phrases such as 'and etc etc' and 'In fourth image we can see' indicate a reliance on visual description rather than academic report writing. The overall progression is partially conveyed, but important details and comparisons between the stages are missed or inadequately covered, keeping the response at this level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation apparent in the text, and the writer attempts to use paragraphing to separate different stages of the process. However, there is no clear overall progression due to mechanical and repetitive cohesive devices, such as the frequent, repetitive use of 'Then' and 'After that'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, as seen in phrases like 'these thing transport' and 'these things'. Paragraphing is basic and lacks sophisticated transitional links to guide the reader smoothly from one stage of the cycle to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task, containing noticeable errors that occasionally impede communication. There are frequent word choice and spelling mistakes, such as 'biofule', 'machinaries', 'sugers', 'vehicals', and 'ethnol'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary related to the process, but inaccurate word forms and incorrect spellings restrict the range. To improve, the writer needs to expand their control of spelling and use more precise terminology related to industrial processes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is quite limited, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent attempts at complex structures that are faulty. There are persistent errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('process graph illustrates that how', 'vehicals are produced'), incorrect verb forms ('is produced', 'create sugars', 'are use to'), and missing articles or prepositions. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and demonstrate weak control over basic and complex grammatical structures alike.
