Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response makes a limited attempt to describe a process, but it is largely off-topic for the diagram. It introduces advice about electric vehicles, fuel use, pollution and global warming, none of which is requested, and it misidentifies the plant material as sugarcane rather than describing the stages shown. Some relevant elements appear—growing plants, harvesting, factory processing and ethanol—but key stages such as cellulose, sugars, microbes and the return of carbon dioxide to plant growth are omitted or inaccurately represented. The question asks for a summary of the production cycle, yet there is no clear overview of its main features. Focus on the diagram’s sequence and explain the carbon-dioxide cycle without adding claims about fuel costs or public appeals.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is some paragraphing, and the response attempts to move from an introduction to process details and then a concluding comment. However, the progression is difficult to follow because unrelated discussion about pollution and government advice interrupts the description. Connections between stages are also unclear: for example, the account jumps from harvesting to a factory and then to ethanol without explaining the diagram’s intermediate steps. Linking phrases such as “After” and “On other hand” are attempted, but they do not consistently clarify the relationships between ideas. Organise the response in the order shown, using one paragraph for the cycle overview and another for the stages, and use clear references to connect each step.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some task-related vocabulary, including “harvesting,” “processing,” “ethanol,” and “global warming,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make meaning less clear, such as “raw material to final fuel making process,” “chemical procedure,” and “other resources of fuel.” There are also frequent spelling errors, including “goverment,” “loacal,” “pepole,” and “deliv erd” (written as “deliverd”), which reduce precision. Aim for accurate process vocabulary and natural collocations: for example, describe plants being harvested, cellulose being processed into sugars, and microbes being added to produce ethanol. Proofreading spelling would also improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple and longer sentence forms, but control is inconsistent and errors often make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “people must be use fuel,” “According the image displays,” and “How they produce ethanol,” where verb forms, sentence construction and missing grammatical elements cause problems. The sentence “After the processing of sugarcane juice with chemical procedure convert in to the ethanol” also lacks a clear subject and has an incomplete structure. Some basic meaning is recoverable, but accurate sentence patterns are not sustained. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use passive forms for process descriptions, such as “The material is processed” and “Microbes are added.”
