Student answer (Band 6.0)
As I also believe that people especially the young generations should be more careful on which they spend , this also mean they should maintain a balance between spending and saving.
It is always best to save money for future, for the youngsters it is more vital as they have to go a long way of their life. We do not know where and when we need extra money. For example maybe there is an emergency such as health condition where we need urgent money or an opportunity will show up for a business that needs capital. So saving small portion of the total income is crucial for the future. Also there is a possibility to have extra expenses in the future if someone marry or have kids. Moreover when anyone retires, the saved money can help them to lead a quality life in his adulthood.
Although saving is important, we also have to keep in mind that excessive saving without considering our daily needs can distroy the interesting part of the life. If someone priortise his future more than present it can hinders his joyful moment as the won't get a chance to enjoy his hobbies. He will always be concerned for his future so much that he would forget to experience the joyful sight of the present.
In conclusion, I agree that general public should save for their future life, it shouldnot be ignoring present life completely. A proper balance of maintaining and saving income should be followed.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you agree that saving matters, while arguing that it should not come at the expense of present enjoyment. You address both sides of this balance and give relevant reasons, including emergencies, business opportunities, family costs and retirement. This range of examples supports the main view and helps the response meet the task well. However, several points are asserted rather than fully explained: for instance, the possibility of marriage or children is mentioned without showing how saving helps meet those costs, and the retirement point is brief. To strengthen the response further, develop fewer examples with a clearer explanation of their consequences and maintain the same degree of detail across both sides.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an opening position, a paragraph explaining reasons to save, a contrasting paragraph about excessive saving, and a conclusion. The contrast introduced by “Although saving is important” is useful, and examples generally appear in a sensible order. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening sentence is difficult to follow, and “this also mean” does not clearly link the two ideas. The second paragraph also moves quickly from emergencies to business, family and retirement, so the progression feels list-like rather than fully developed. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example to the paragraph’s main claim. More precise referencing would also help readers follow who “he” and “they” refer to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to discuss saving and future needs, including “emergency,” “capital,” “retire,” “excessive saving” and “daily needs.” These choices make the main ideas understandable, and there is some attempt to use topic-specific language. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “distroy,” “priortise,” “joyful sight,” and “maintaining and saving income.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “go a long way of their life” and “quality life in his adulthood.” Aim for accurate collocations and consistent word forms, and proofread spelling. A more precise vocabulary range would make the argument sound clearer and more natural without requiring unnecessarily complex words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession clause beginning “Although saving is important” and conditional structures such as “If someone prioritise his future…”. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make sentences difficult to follow. For example, “this also mean” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “it can hinders” combines incompatible verb forms. The sentence beginning “If someone prioritise…” also shifts between “someone,” “his” and “he,” and “as the won't” is structurally unclear. Review agreement, verb patterns after modal verbs, articles and pronoun consistency. Breaking the opening sentence into two clearer clauses would also improve control and readability.
