Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear in the opening: “I largely agree,” and you give relevant reasons, including emergency savings, later-life care costs, and financial management. These points show an understanding of the topic, but they are only briefly introduced and are not sufficiently explained or supported with specific examples. The second point about healthcare is the most developed, yet it ends without showing how saving would help in practice. The final idea is also cut off, so the response does not fully establish its conclusion. The response is 188 words, below the required 250, which limits how fully you can address and develop the task. Extend each reason with explanation and a relevant example, then finish with a clear conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: the opening states your view, and “Firstly” and “secondly” signal two supporting reasons. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because the first supporting point breaks off at “There might” before a separate fragment, “therefore money is considered…”. The final paragraph also stops mid-phrase, leaving the argument incomplete. Paragraphing and transitions are inconsistent, and the repeated use of “therefore” does not always show a clear relationship between ideas. Develop one complete paragraph for each reason, with a topic sentence, explanation, and example. Use linking expressions only where they accurately connect the ideas, and add a concluding paragraph to bring the response to a logical close.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, such as “financial stability,” “financial freedom,” “emergency situations,” and “financial management,” which helps communicate your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response harder to understand, including “financal,” “finnacial,” “satbility,” and “donont.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “in short run” and “regular hospitals check-up.” Aim to use accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, “in the short run” and “regular hospital check-ups” would be more idiomatic. Building a wider set of precise terms for saving, unexpected costs, and retirement would also help you express your ideas more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including the opening sentence with “as it provides” and the conditional idea beginning “if person has saved money.” However, complex structures are often incomplete or faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “There might” has no completed clause, while “if person has saved money from yioung age it heps him or her” lacks clear sentence structure and punctuation. Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “during the emergency situations. Our lives.” Practise completing each clause, using articles consistently, and separating sentences with appropriate punctuation. Read each sentence aloud and check that it has a clear subject and verb and expresses a complete idea.
