Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the unpredictability of the future and the importance of financial literacy, the arguments remain at a surface level. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or elaborate on the long-term societal or personal benefits of saving. The structure is somewhat repetitive, and the ideas could be extended further to provide a more comprehensive discussion of why this is particularly important for young people.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into short paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the progression of ideas is occasionally disjointed. You rely on simple transition words like 'So' to start several paragraphs, which makes the flow feel mechanical. There is a lack of sophisticated cohesive devices to link sentences and ideas more fluidly. Additionally, some sentences are fragmented or lack clear logical connections, such as the transition between the difficulty of earning money and the necessity of saving. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your main points clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'unforeseen circumstances', 'accumulate', and 'failsafe'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'Money is commodity' (missing an article) and 'if you fixed deposit the money' (incorrect verb usage). To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and avoid repeating basic words like 'money' and 'skill' too frequently. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you achieve a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include missing articles ('is commodity'), subject-verb agreement errors ('everything require money'), and punctuation mistakes, such as comma splices and missing commas after introductory phrases. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and using articles correctly. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy will also help boost your score.
