Student answer (Band 6.0)

Many people think that saving money is essential habbit that everyone should follow especially, youngsters to develop. I completly agree with this as it is more important to save money for future.

One of the major reason why people save money from young age is that it offers financial stability. Life is unpredictable and unexpected events such as medical emergency, job loss etc can happen at any time. So in this type of situation money is required at any cost. So to overcome all these circumstances saved money can be used. Having savings enables individuals to deal with these challenges. For example, a young proffessional who have savings can survive even after job loss.

Another important benefit of saving money is that youngsters can acheive their future goals. Suppose a young person dream to buying a big house, his dream racing car, starting a business etc. So if a person is having his own saving then easily he can fullfill his dreams without applying for bank loans or taking money from some other such as collegues and friends.

Furthermore, developing the habbit of saving encourages responsible financially management. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the response is incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence, and fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words. While the ideas regarding financial stability and goal achievement are relevant, they are somewhat repetitive and lack the depth required for a higher band. The conclusion is entirely missing, which significantly impacts the development of the argument. To improve, ensure you fully develop your points with more specific examples and provide a clear, balanced conclusion that summarizes your main arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'One of the major reason', 'Another important benefit', and 'Furthermore'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, the lack of a concluding paragraph disrupts the overall flow and structure of the essay. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and a cohesive transition to the next point.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is somewhat basic and contains several spelling errors (e.g., 'habbit', 'completly', 'proffessional', 'acheive', 'properlly', 'invidually'). There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'financial stability' and 'responsible financial management', but the range is limited. To achieve a higher score, you should work on using more precise academic vocabulary and pay closer attention to spelling accuracy. Avoid repeating simple words and try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('a young person dream to buying', 'youngsters can acheive') and incorrect word forms ('responsible financially management'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall clarity of the writing. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately.
