Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of saving money. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. While you mention the need for savings during old age and for emergencies, the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. For instance, the point about buying expensive items is a bit simplistic and does not fully explore the broader economic or personal benefits of financial planning. To improve, try to expand on your points with more detailed reasoning or real-world context to reach a higher band level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the awkward transition 'Additionally, . You have to manage'. Some sentences are disjointed, and the logical flow between ideas is occasionally interrupted by grammatical errors. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the concluding paragraph does not effectively summarize the main points, instead repeating the earlier argument about aging. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'work mid night the oil' (a misuse of the idiom 'burn the midnight oil') and 'safe your future' (should be 'save'). While you attempt to use some topic-related vocabulary, the lack of precision and frequent errors in word formation limit the effectiveness of your communication. To reach a higher band, focus on learning collocations and using more precise terminology related to finance and personal development.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Some belive that spend'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'if you are earn today'), and punctuation errors, such as unnecessary commas and missing spaces. The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences are often marred by errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and consistent verb tense usage before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
